It's really not that I know more than everyone else. I just am right almost all of the time. And don't even get me started on the stupidity of homework. If you have to massage the same question over and over again to get an answer someone else has already solved - what is the point? Where's the higher purpose?

I've always known there was more to this world than school, break and the Games. It just took my cousin finally winning for everyone else in Six to realize it too. While the other districts compete or suffer, we'd discovered the real secret to happiness: mediocrity.

Trying to convince the other peons aka my classmates of this is useless. Believe me, I've tried. So instead of wasting my breath, I've taken up smoking and dedicated lonerism. It's not as easy as you'd think, being a complete lone wolf. I eat lunch by myself, I leave as soon as class is over. If someone tries to talk to me, I avert my gaze.

Doesn't work as well at home with my parents and brothers. But you know what I discovered when I stopped trying to engage everyone else? Mostly they think they're too good to talk to me, too. Except they're complete ass backwards. As long as it saves the effort of mindless conversation, I'll keep rolling with it. I haven't met anyone yet who's worthy of my analysis.
