No, truly. I'm quite the 'negative anus,' as those ruffians on the street like to say. That's right, yeah? Of course it is! I took a literature class. Anyway, back to the main subject. Picture it: this morning, after a very healthy breakfast, I ran to my upstairs room and packed my leather suitcase with only the most essential belongings. I'm talking my cashmere sweaters and my pleated skirts. I left my fuzzy boots behind because my bag was full and it's practically summer, and truly?

I nearly gave up right then. But I had a mission, so I pressed forward despite my personal tragedy. I leapt from my window— no, not from my bedroom! I'm not an idiot. I went out from the downstairs kitchen. It was hard to open, so Daddy helped, but that's not important. After the nanny carried me through— I mean, after I slipped through and fell against the unforgiving earth below, that's when I made my journey.

Across the street to Amelie's house, where I waited in her living room and enjoyed some tea with her mother. Such a lovely woman. Admittedly all the plastic surgery is not a choice that I would have made, but who am I to judge? Once Amelie finished, and after she rudely rejected my encouragement to crawl through her window like I did at my house, we made our way in search of a missing treasure.

'Which is?' you ask, to which I'd shove a photograph in your face if you were actually here with me. It's Mel, obviously! That selfish bitch. I mean, that self-centered brat! Can you believe her? She disappeared in the night and her parents didn't even care. I was like, 'But what if she was kidnapped?!' and they were all like, 'Eh.' And I swear I was gonna cry but, like, my mascara... y'know?

Anyway! Now we're on the prowl. We've been walking for weeks at this point. ( Okay! Only two hours, but let me have this. ) It's so difficult. Living this life. Why would Mel give up everything she had? More than that, why would I?! Actually, wait, I didn't. Listen, I love my second best friend and she's crucial to The Emilias — ( The Amelias, if you asked her. ) — but I need my social standing and my wealth to survive!

Both me and Amelie. We're not reckless. We told our parents that we were going to some sort of summer camp, and they were like, 'Follow your dreams!' Ugh, here it comes. The urge to cry for Mel again and to think about how no one but us gives a crap about her. I won't, don't worry, but ugh! My feet are burning in my stilettos, so Amelie's carrying me, and Mel had better show up soon. I swear if she's living in a cardboard box, I'm out. I'm not that crazy. Damn if I don't miss her, though.

I just hope she's okay;
I just wanna know why she left us behind.
