Such is the making of a traditional warrior; one versed in both matters of the mind and matters of the body. A holdover from before the academies became bloated with spoiled scions of rich families and men who shove and slice to get places their feeble words are unable to take them.
And what do we get for it? A loss to district seven, three victors that could hardly be called exemplary in any sense of the word, skill with blades useless if it cannot be backed up with an inner calmness and a sense of purpose, with the ability to think philosophically and strategically instead of relying only on our weapons.
No, what we need is not the insecurity of arrogance and futile lives of riches and glory. What we need is discipline and purpose. What we need is to make District One great again.
