It wasn’t always easy being baby brother to the mouthpiece of the Capitol, but it certainly brought some of its perks. The will they, won’t they magnetic pull of Astrid and Turing Ayres was enough drama to keep the Capitolites wet in the panties in the months between Games.

Asher used his minor celebrity to his advantage, always going as Astrid’s plus one because as much as she was head over heels in love with Turing, the two idiots would actually never show up to an event as each other’s date. What could have been infuriating was just another perk for the younger blonde.  

He met and mingled and bedded and dined and drank with the Capitol’s finest - young men and women dripping in diamonds, rubies, gold - their lust for life and sex almost as strong as their lust for the human body. His ears picked up whispered conversations about bets and tributes and favorites. His fingers touched dignitaries. His lips tasted kingmakers. 

If Astrid was the mouthpiece, Asher was the meal. And that suited him just fine, thank you very much.
