It should have been a gentle whisper on the wind, but instead instead it was screamed. Loud enough that I could have sworn they heard it in the other Districts before it was even on their tvs.

Loud enough to make me drop to my knees.

There was no one there to help me stand up, she couldn't turn around to get me to my feet, and those surrounding me just stared, pity for the poor girl about to lose her sister smeared across their face.

Silent tears streamed down my face as she walked with her head held high, too proud to let her eyes fall to the ground. I wanted to cry out, but I can practically hear her voice in my ears.

Stay strong.

One strike, two strikes, and I lost count of how many more before she fell to the ground. Defeated.

Her name.

Now nothing but a whisper on their lips.
