I know there are certain realities that can’t be ignored. Folks that want to sort out our differences peacefully, when they have the chance. Except – there’s an aching in the plains that can’t be ignored. Men and women that go with too little, while we see the capitol take what we have to stuff their faces, to wear on their bodies, to hoard as though there’s never been enough. Sampson would sing songs of how we could light the world on fire, and I think back to his long-shot campaign, talking about what the world needed.

Emma was the one that told me to come see him – a part of a faction that wasn’t content to live and let live. If there was to be any success in the district, I would have to appeal to as many as possible. I had to be willing to work with them, to bring them to my ideas or – at the least, let them see exactly the sort of man that I was. I kept my word, I honored folks with dignity, and I would see too it that we were united.

So it’s when I give a knock at the door, that I can feel the nervousness fill my body. “I’m here to see Jimmy,” I call out, nervous smile and all plastered across my face.
