The roses bloomed for the first time yesterday. I can't believe it even grew, honestly Twelve isn't exactly the most fertile of lands, but somehow it pulled through. I don't know what I expected, but I'm happy that it survived. I used to stare at that rose in the vault every day, trying to stay sane. I just want to thank you. Life's been different since the 80th. It's been harder in some ways and easier in others. I just-yeah thanks Wander, that rose meant a lot more to me than I expected it to. My brother, Jack, (the one I called a coward) complimented them yesterday. He's happy I found something to keep me distracted from everything and he wanted to thank you for that too.
Also, he's kind of clinging to me now since then.
Not that I mind, but it's a lot. Kind of tired of seeing pity in his eyes, ya know?
I just wanted to thank you and check in with you. How's home been like? Is everything good there on the seaside? How's life been treating you? I miss everyone, do you?
Home's been good here. Well, for the most part. My dad is running for mayor. Something about for the future of your well-being son, as if I need to be thrust into the spotlight again. The reaping is coming up and I can see the worry in his and Jack's eyes. Home's been good though. Everyone's starting to get used to uh, my new lifestyle? The garden's been kind of fun since making it. I've been practicing some card tricks, but nothing like Mitchell used to do, but I'm getting there.
I miss everyone. Like the other day, I wish you had been here to show you the garden since everything is finally blooming this spring. That's why I think I'm gonna put Ace to use now. Send the bird around Panem delivering letters between all of us. I hope this reaches you and that Ace doesn't wonder off because of a bakery or anything like that. The bird is being spoiled by my mother I swear.
Anyways, I'll also attach a small pouch of some spices and herbs from the garden that grew. Mom said they'd be good on some of the fish from the lake somewhere around Twelve, but I thought they might be better for you in Four. Also I hope you don't mind me sending one of the roses back! Thought you could use one too! Hope to hear from you soon, Wander!
