A most peculiar thing, with barrettes holding your dark hair from your face and wool socks fallen down around slender ankles. When it came time for the others and you to choose your creative outlets, most of them chose what one would expect: painting or music. But you, crowned Jule, chose theater: a one-woman show where, for once, the spotlight was on you in a positive way. You've always been quite the theatrical one, arms stretched above you, head turned to the side, gaze cast downward and away from the stars you so longed to join the ranks of. You loved everything about performing: the costumes, the crowds, the ability to disappear all while being the center of everyone's attention. And you were quite good. Rose would sing during intermission and Jane would dance, and all the Hailshams who had not been roped into your plays would sit in the audience and watch, grateful too that they had the opportunity to forget, if only for a short while.
