Okay, this is the first chapter in my book. I'm not sure if it's good or not. Just comment on weather you like it or not.
Chapter 1: The Plan
Necromancers are dead men who have risen from the dead by other Necromancers….
The Necromancer was floating on the path with three skeletal soldiers close behind. Their weapons at the ready…. They wore black helmets with black kneepads and a silver chest plate. The Necromancer wore only a black robe with a sickle on the back of the hood. The color was blood read. It represented what a Necromancer does. Sacrifices the living for more Necromancers is what they. The living doesn’t like it, but they do.
They were headed to the Church of Centuries. The Centuries lived in the Church. Centuries are a form of Shadow and Light. They normally come in forms of lions. But the more powerful come in human form and can stretch their limbs. They are called Decades. Each Shadow creature had a certain amount of time to live. A Century lived for one hundred years, while a Decade lived for ten years. Some Shadow creatures lived forever unless killed.
The doors open, and they enter. A young girl screams. Then is muffled and then stops. The Necromancer and his companions ignore this. They take a left. The Church is made of bones, dead meat, and of course, Magic. Only the dead may enter. Or they die and never come back. The Necromancer led the warriors into a gigantic room with others.
“I am sorry for our lateness, my lords. But we were stopped by some…. Humans!” said the Necromancer. When he said ‘Humans’, his tone was disgusted… and hissing at the same time. “May we please get on with this?”
“Of course you are late, Sha’Din. Please, sit down,” said the dead man at the very front speaking. Once the Necromancer was sitting and so were the warriors, the man in front started to speak, “Now that we are all here, it is time to decide what we should do.”
“We should use the help of the Shadow King to destroy all of the living!” yelled out one of the dead people sitting down.
“That is an excellent suggestion, but….. Will the Shadow King help us?” asked the man up front.
“Of course he shall!” yelled out the same person, “He always has! Why wouldn’t he now?”
Everybody started to whisper to each other about this plan. Meetings always went this fast. The man who spoke was a strategy expert and knew what he spoke of. But, somebody spoke up, an old woman…. Well, a very old dead woman.
“KILL THEM ALL NOW! DO NOT WAIT!”
“That is stupid!” yelled out the Necromancer named Sha’Din.
“Sha’Din! Wing’Ta! Both of you sit down! The plan has already been set!” yelled out the man at the front. “Sha’Din, you will be taking a squad of two hundred men to kill off the Humans to the east!” then everybody shuffled out after a long meeting of boring things such as the economy. Who needs to hear about that?
******************************************************************************
Sha’Din was floating with five hundred soldiers at his tail. They all marched in sequence. As they approached the Human camps, then…. Sha’Din ordered the attack. The Undead attacked. The Humans started to defend, but there were more Undead than Humans. And with each death, there were more Undead. The Humans defended. But were all killed in ten minutes. Sha’Din smiled, and then walked to the General.
“Pack up the bodies; we are leaving for the other camps. We need for these bodies to waste and then I will bring them back.” The General did as he was told and quickly put all the bodies in sacks. Allowing the dead bodies to rot faster. Sha’Din sat down and laughed. He was enjoying himself and Humans were dying. It was the perfect day. Until, of course….. after he got the news.
“VALENTINE ESCAFON, HOW GUTLESS COULD YOU POSSIBLY BE!” yelled the Martial Arts teacher?
“I’m sorry, sir! I will t-try harder…!” yelled Valentine nervously. Valentine is a fourteen year old boy who is shy of confidence. “Master Dee, could we please stop?” asked Valentine.
“Not even in your dreams, Valentine!” yelled out Master Dee. Master Dee was a supposed three hundred year old man who is a master at the Martial Arts. He wore black pants, a red cloak, a grey wool shirt. While Valentine wore red pans, with a red cloak and a black wool shirt. His hair is dark brown while Dee’s is red. Both had brown eyes. He had a red bandana signifying that he was one bandana short of master.
Valentine and Master Dee were having one of their practice sessions. This is when they fought each other in great battle. Master Dee kicked at Valentines face with his left leg. Valentine blocked it, but he couldn’t block the fist coming right at his stomach. It hit him head on. Valentine lost all of his air and fell down. Master Dee then kicked him in the chest, picked him up and threw him up. As he fell, Master Dee jumped up and delivered three kicks up his body. One punch was delivered in the stomach, one in the chest to stop the breathing, and one in the face for that extra pain.
Valentine fell to the floor in immense pain. Out of air, out of time. Master Dee had won once again. To gain the black bandana, you must defeat your own master, which is something Valentine will never do in his condition.
******************************************************************************
Valentine walked home, as usual… alone. No friends, no family. Living in a Human city was boring. I wish there was something better to do than just train and then wait for something to happen. Thought Valentine, he was almost home, when something happened. The ground shook.
“Whoa!” yelled out Valentine. There was a faint smell of rotted flesh. And the ground shook more. Valentine realized what was happening. The Undead…..
Valentine ran towards where it was coming. The Human soldiers wouldn’t permit anybody past the gates. But everybody knew what was going on. The Undead were attacking, for the gates were coming down. They shuffled everybody out of the area before the Undead could get in. But not soon enough, the Undead broke through and attacked the inside of the city of Humans. Soldiers were fighting back hard, but the Undead continued to come. As if there was an endless supply.
The archers that were on the Gate were dead from the impact on the ground. Soldiers on the ground were impaling the Undead that they could hit. But more of them were skewered by the Undead because they were much quicker without the muscle and fat that Humans had.
The first wave was in already. Soldiers collapsed on the ground as they entered.
“KILL THEM ALL!” yelled out one of the Generals. And the Undead carried out this wish. AAs they pillaged the village. Peasants were now under attack. So would be Valentine if he didn’t get out of there soon enough.
******************************************************************************
“Ugh,” moaned Twyla. She woke up chained to a piece of wood. They were marching into a city. It looked like her home. But she couldn’t tell. The Gates fell down. And they attacked. They put Twyla down and brought out one of their monsters. It was dead meat sewn together. The Undead laughed as the monster approached Twyla. Her hair was dark brown, her eyes brown. He wore only a cotton shirt that was too big for her. She screamed as the monster closed in on her. She then passed out as it was about to pick her up.
Twyla woke up on a plain. There was a boy sitting next to her with another boy.
“Wh-who are you?” asked Twyla.
“My name is Valentine, his name is Twig.” said the boy with the red bandana.
“Heya!” yelled out the one named Twig. The boy named Valentine said:
“That monster hit your head hard. You should rest.”
Twyla took under consideration of resting while these two boys were here. She didn’t know them. And she didn’t think she could trust them. While she was out, they could have done anything to her. She would check herself, but she was too weak and couldn’t move. The monster hit her very hard in the head; she was disabled and couldn’t move. She had no other choice.
“Okay,” she said before falling into a deep sleep. And nightmares then hit her.
******************************************************************************
EARLIER:
Valentine was running. When somebody caught his left shoulder and pulled him into an alleyway as the undead forces passed by, killing soldiers.
“Listen,” said the person. It was Master Dee, “you have to get out of here. There is a girl out there in their camp. You must grab the boy named Twig and save her. Her name is Twyla. You three will receive instructions later on. Go! Get Twig and run!” Master Dee pushed Valentine out of the alleyway. Master Dee disappeared. Valentine was confused but he had to fallow what Master Dee said.
“Twig!” yelled out Valentine. He was at his door, but Twig would not answer. Valentine needed to act fast. He looked around and saw a window leading into the house. And then he saw a dead Human soldier. He knew he wasn’t supposed to use weapons, but he had no choice. He ran to the dead man and took out his sword. It was heavy and cold. It was also blood stained near the tip. It fell on his hands. But he didn’t care. He needed to get Twig. He carried the heavy, cold sword and smashed it against the window. He dropped the sword and climbed down. He got a few minor cuts. He started to bleed. Everything was off. No candles were lit. Nothing stirred. Valentine figured that Twig had already fled.
Valentine opened the door and ran out. He had to find Twig and get that girl that Master Dee spoke of. He sprinted through the alleyways. He saw only dead soldiers from both sides, nothing else. Just then, somebody covered his mouth and dragged him against the wall.
“Sh!” said a voice. It sounded young, like Valentines. “You want to get us both killed, Valentine? Or do you want to live?”
“Mmf!” is all could Valentine say. The person let him speak. “Twig, is that you?”
“Of course it’s me!” hissed Twig, “Who else would save your life? No before you answer that, I need you to listen. There is a creature that is going to attack the” BOOM! CRASH! They both looked towards the castle. The beautiful caste was being attacked by a gigantic, dark being. It grabbed the bodies of the soldiers falling and let them drop. There was a golden shine coming out of each and every one of them. The creature ate the shines. Before Valentine could say anything else, Twig grabbed him and they both ran.
They didn’t get far before they were attacked by an undead soldier. I yelled out a battle cry from above and attacked by jumping off one of the houses. Valentine turned around and did a high kick into its face. The head popped off and it the soldier fell limp.
“Nice job,” said Twig.
“Thanks,” said Valentine, “after you.” He gestured towards the gates. Twig shrugged and sprinted towards the gates. Valentine fallowed close behind. They had reached the gate and there were three monsters that looked sewn together by dead, rotten flesh. Valentine could feel his breakfast coming up his throat. Twig’s eyes widened. Valentine grabbed Twig and slammed him against a wall just before an arrow could hit him in the head.
“Run!” yelled Twig, and so they did run. They ran towards the Gates before Valentine could say anything. Then, valentine realized something.
“No, wait! We can’t take the direct rout! Well be killed!”
“What choice do we have?” asked Twig.
“The sewers,” said Valentine…
******************************************************************************
“Your worst idea ever, Valentine!” said Twig. They were trudging through the sewers of the city. It was filled with food that was already eaten and disposed of. Twig’s foot fell through the garbage twice.
“Would you have preferred the Gates were the Undead could see you clearly?” asked Valentine.
“This is the best idea you ever had!” yelled out Twig.
“Thank you,” said Valentine. He snickered because he knew Twig still wanted to snap him in half for making him walk in the sewers of the city. Of course, it was either that… or they die. And Valentine knew that he didn’t want to die. But still, he started to have second thoughts about the idea as well. He didn’t feel like he should have made Twig come. Then again, Master Dee had told him to take Twig with him. Twig was in the back but he looked back. Twig wore a black cloak with black breeches and black leggings with black boots. He was in perfect disguise mode. Valentine almost laughed. Because he also had a mask on to cover his face. Twigs hair was very short. It was the only thing not black. It was actually yellow.
Twig let out another yelp because he stepped on something and his entire left leg fell under. He was able to get himself out but now his left leg was covered in chewed up food.
“You know,” said Twig, “we have no idea what this girl looks like; we could be walking into a trap. She could be Undead, or worse… ORC! That doesn’t sound very appealing! That sounds disgusting!” Twig then made a face. Just thinking about saving and Orc girl was disgusting!
“Well, let’s hope she’s human,” said Valentine.
“Or better,” said Twig, “Elvish!” His face then brightened up and took to a sprint!
“Huh… So this is what gets him going. Elvish girls…” said Valentine before sprinting after Twig to make sure that he wouldn’t get hurt. Twig tended to fall into many traps before learning anything at all.
After hours of walking around in the sewers, being lost, Twig and Valentine finally found the door. Valentine proceeded to open the door but Twig grabbed his hand before it touched the door handle.
“Wait,” said Twig with despair in his face.
“What is it?” asked Valentine.
“What if,” Twig paused before he continued, “if there are Undead waiting for us right out…” his voice trailed off.
“Then we die…” said Valentine plainly as possible. But he couldn’t stop some fear coming out. He wrenched his arm from Twigs grasp and reached for the door once more. He grabbed the handle and turns it. A click and the door open.
Valentine and Twig walked out. The air smelled of rotten flesh, and burning flesh. There wasn’t any time to rest; there was a scream that came from their left. It was a girl; they ran towards the scream and found a girl died to a piece of wood. A monster hit her in the head, hard! She went limp. She was alive though. Valentine and Twig exchanges looks, it was clear, however, that the girl was Elvish kind and Twig was right. They couldn’t see her face, but they knew she was alive. The creature, however, didn’t seem to like that. It went in for the kill. Valentine acted fast. He picked up a rock and threw it at the beast.
“Hey!” he yelled, “How about some of this!”
“What in the name of everything are you doing?!” yelled out Twig.
“Getting him here,” Valentine yelled back.
The rock and the yell got the creatures attention. It took a big stride towards them. When it stepped into the moonlight, they could see it clearly. It was meat sewn together. It was human flesh! It had a hook in the left hand, and a club in the right. It wore a piece of cloth at the groin area. Valentine and Twig almost vomited at its site.
GRAWR! The creature was mad. It ran at them. Although… Valentine and Twig only had to walk to get away. But they weren’t about to do that.
“Twig, you run around his right, I’ll run around his left!” yelled Valentine.
“Anything to get me out its site!” yelled Twig. They did what Valentine said. Twig around the right, and Valentine ran around the left. They ended up at the girl.
“What do we do now?” asked Twig.
“I don’t know!” yelled Valentine. The creature turned around and ran towards them again. Valentine looked around. He saw a stick, it was pointy. He had no choice. He picked it up and readied himself. “Twig,” Twig looked at Valentine, “get the girl out of here!” Twig did as we was told and proceeded to get her out. Valentine charged at the creature. It laughed as he attempted to drive the stick into its gut. It attacked with its club, but Valentine ducked under it and lunged at its belly.
The stick hit its mark, but the creature wasn’t dead. It screamed, and then hit Valentine with the hook, making a big gash across Valentine’s chest. He winced in pain and fell back. He turned around and ran. He knew the creature couldn’t fallow him. Twig was waiting for him near a dead tree. He saw the girl in his arms, still unconscious.
“Your hurt,” said Twig.
“Yes, I know. Let’s get out of here!” replied Valentine and they ran.
