The posh people, ughhhhhh.
"They're the influencers" a PR agent nags at the sight of my rolled eyes. "The ones who'll tell all their friends to vote and persuade their enemies to, too."
I've never been particularly dazzled by them myself, all trust funds and gross profits and sitting at home filing their nails and fucking the nannies because they're bored out of their minds. I'd rather people with substance, with work ethic, with desires and goals and tangible lives. But whatever, if they reckon they'll get me the vote, fine. I've had my eyes on the De Avilla's in that crowd anyway, with their church and their crosses and cocaine dusting the holy grail.
Challenges get me feeling a certain way, so why not start with the most influential family in this District?
Fray. Spat out and sighed from mouths all across One. The pleasant ring of the name fell to a dull monotone in my ears years ago but if I have to rustle up a few feathers to get this shit rolling, why not don a smile and lipstick and go hunting for the spoiled and rotten?
A finger points to some blonde in the crowd of suits and dresses loitering in the Justice Building halls here to meet their candidates. Muscle and straight teeth and arrogance: bingo.
A final groan underneath my breath, a stern shove at my back from the campaign team, I grit my teeth and grin - almost too forcefully.
"Excuse me," (Mr Trust Fund Baby flies through my train of thought and crashes at the back of my clamped teeth) "might I have a word with your father, if he's around?"
Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
