Estelle found comfort in the flowers - their delicate petals and spring grass stems.

She would tuck them into her midnight curls and breathe in their fragrant aromas. There were days when she laid under the summer heat, sunflowers curling at the edges and sweat sticking to her russet brown skin.

 The sun could shine through their gossamer-like petals, a light in her shadows. She tries to forget that her name is a curse, that every reaping her name being called would be no surprise to anyone - it's like clockwork to her.

But it's hard to forget when all anyone see's is a skeleton.
