Your parents' plant book doesn't have a name for the yellow petals you've been weaving through your braids for the past hour, so you had to pick something to call them - and they were just different enough from sunflowers that it would seem like a rude mistake to name them what they could not become -

There's a knock at the door, making you drop the flowers you were holding.

They're too young to be one of the businessmen that came looking for your parents. You were supposed to tell those men that your parents weren't home, when they knocked. You don't know what you're supposed to say to this teen.

"Hi?" you blink, trying to remember which, if any, of your neighbors they are.
