Name: Avery Fiske
District/Area: District 4
District/Area: District 4
Avery is about the average size of the other boys his age in District four. He stands at about 5’7 and has that very slender swimmers build from spending a lot of time out on the boats and in the water. He has auburn hair that seems a lot redder in the sunlight. Though he inherited his mothers red hair and light blue eyes, Avery was very grateful to not have inherited her incredibly freckly skin.
Though Avery has the build of the usual swimmers of District four, he doesn’t share in their characteristic scars and callused hands from all of typical fishing labor. While he does occasionally help out on a boat just for fun, his family owns one of the larger, wealthier fishing industries in the District and he is not required to work. Due to this, he has spent even more time than most of his peers swimming around the waters of the district, making him one of the strongest swimmers around and also giving him wicked agility on land.
Although he spends much of his time outside and in the water, his family is wealthy enough to afford high-level sunscreen, which is why he is able to maintain such a light skin tone. Though he doesn’t really care about it, his mother, being a vain woman, is always adamant about him putting it on before he leaves the house.
Avery is one of the most free spirited people you could meet for someone who lives in the Districts of Panem. He has a very bubbly, carefree and quirky personality. Being the only child in one of the wealthier families of the District definitely played a part in keeping Avery sheltered and allowed him to retain his happy go lucky attitude as he grew into his teenage years.History:
Though he gets along decently with most people, he’s always been a little bit of a loner with only a few close friends. Growing up without any siblings, and with the few friends he had often off working on the boats with their families, Avery grew used to having to entertain himself and developed a pretty wild imagination.
In general, he just kind of lives in his own little world of day dreams. Avery is often oblivious to the criticisms of those around him, and to those he does hear, he just ignores. If there’s one negative outcome from his sheltered and carefree lifestyle, it’s that he has never developed a true ability to handle negative emotions. So no matter what the scenario, Avery looks on the bright side because he just physically can’t bare the feelings brought on by anger or sorrow.
Avery’s family has been one of the wealthiest families in District 4 since the Dark Days. They are the owners of one of the largest fisheries in the District, and even own a small fleet of their own boats in addition to employing many other smaller fisheries under their company name. Being of the very upper class in this middle District, the Fiske name has come to hold weight in it’s own right.Codeword: Odair
As one of the few people his age who has never been required to work on the boats to help his family, Avery was forced to find a number of other ways to occupy his time while the majority of his family and few friends remained consistently busy with labor. One of his accumulated hobbies is to dive for “treasures”, which to him could be anything from a beautiful seashell to a tarnished old fork he would find on the sea floor. He’s got a quirky collection of these relatively useless items, which he keeps in an old, vine-covered shed behind his family’s large home.
Due to his quirky habits and loner nature, Avery has never been one to make many friends. Though he grew up with some of the other wealthier kids through his family’s connections and still finds company with them on occasion, he has never really connected with any of them. He was far too much of a free spirit to fit into their cliquish world, and he most certainly had no intentions of training with them for the Games. The Games were something he just preferred not to think about entirely. Despite his opposition to them however, his mother ruled the Fiske household with an iron fist. Under her bidding, Avery is enrolled at one of the few actual academies within the District. However, his attendance record is without a doubt the lowest among his comrades, and when he is indeed present, most of the training goes in one ear and out the other.
More often than not, Avery can be found on one of the more secluded beaches during his alleged training time. If he is not on a beach, then he is certainly wandering the bustling docks or in one of the smaller market places, which he loves for their charm rather than the ridiculously expensive merchandise of his family members’ favorite shops. Growing up under the restrictions of the rules of high society in addition to the iron fist of the Capitol, Avery wants nothing more than freedom from each and would much prefer to spend his time aimlessly among those who care far less about such trivial things as beauty products and silverware placement.
