Hunting with myself (Kyra)

Ari panted as he ran behind a peacekeeper, Ari was naturally faster, but fear made the bully faster. Ari looked up ahead and saw the little girl, right in the path of the peace keeper! Ari pushed himself harder, faster, but he wasn't going to be quite fast enough, So Ari planted his feet and nocked and arrow.
The peacekeeper had seen the girl as well, he was moving right towards her, maybe he meant to use her for a shield, maybe he was going to to try to take her weapon, maybe he wanted to hurt one more person before leaving this world. He never got there. The peacekeeper hit the dirt face first as Ari's arrow placed itself in his back, he fell but inches from the girl, right at her feet.
Ari stood, making sure he was dead before walking up to retrive his arrow from the man's back, after pulling it out he wiped the blood on the grass, then looked to the girl. "You aren't hurt" It was more of a statement than a question, the man hadn't touched her.

Ari cocked his head slightly as he looked down at the little girl, she seemed shaken and, well, akward, like she wasn'tused to people. She also seemed wary of him. Ari shruged it off mentaly, he was used to standing alone. Since Leo left, well, he had been aloof, a strong leader with out friends, he needed to have nothing in order to change everything, or so he thought.
Ari smiled at the offer, but he calculated by his mens thundering footsteps that they were finally close enough to give the scolding they vey much deserved. Turning on his heels Ari looked to his oncoming team. "You idiots!" Ari yelled, "You were setting a trap! A trap, that means you need to pay attention to the target! Not let him run by you!"
Ari had ment to flush the peacekeeper into a circle of his team, then it would be over, the reign of terror. No though, not one of them had even fired at the peace keeper Ari was leading to them, so the peacekeeper and Ari kept running. Ari berated them more as they dropped their gaze, waiting for his tirade to be over.
Finally, Ari turned back the girl, putting a small smile on his face, to be sure she wouldn't be scared after his verbal discipling the guys. "I'd appreciate that. These guys don't even need food after their preformance today anyway" Ari's smile grew wider at their sounds of dismay, "But I just can't afford to starve them, so how about we bring our owm meat?" Ari pulled a couple rabbits, a few squirels off his beltloop, and a thrush was in his bag.

Ari smiled as he follow the girl back to the house, she was kind, that he could tell, but she was also so... timid. Like she really didn't know people.

Once they entered the house, Ari contented himself to watching his boys talk and mess around. Then he got curious, and his brother had raised him to share the work, so he rose quietly and headed towards the small kitchen. Ari was walking toward her when she came to meet him. She was so hesitant! Ari listened and nodded, "Sure thing" he said quietly, not that he really meant to be quiet, that was just the way he was, unless he was giving orders, everything about him was quiet from his breathing to his speaking.
Re-entering the room Ari stepped into the center of the circle of friends. " Quiet, now. Not another shout, I want whispering. If it seems at all loud I will take care of it, the noise maker will anwser to me." Ari waited, unmoving as stone, as one by one all of them there nodded.
"Good, we understand eachother then." And walked back to the kitchen. The conversation resumed at a lower tone.

As Ari re-entered the kitchen he smiled, "We won't wake him, I promise." Then Ari was struck by how, unright, this all was. This girl acted as if she hardly talked to anyone, barely saw a soul, yet supposedly her father lived here, with her. And now Ari was even more aware of the peculiar smell emitting from the general direction of where she pointed.
"I'm going to go look at your father." Ari wasn't asking, there was something wrong here, it was practically tangable to him. Ari walked briskly towards the room, still padding quietly, becoming more and more aware of the scent that was growing stronger with each step, it was revolting. It was.. rotting. Ari pushed open the door...
Ari nearly gagged as he entered the room, his control the only thing that kept him from retching. And on the bed he saw the source of the foul odear, there was a rotting body. Judging by the stench and it's look it had been there for quite some time.
Ari had heared the girl's tread behind him, he turned to her now, "Is this you're father?" Ari couldn't believe it, this must not be who she had referred to...

Ari stared at the girl for a minute, then made a desision as he followed her out.
Ari felt even sadder as she told him that.. her dad had been 'sleeping' for a long time. Just how long had this little girl been waiting for her dead father to wake up? Too long.

"Listen," Ari realized he still didn't know her name, that would come later, " I'm taking you back with me, you can live in my house and I'll take care of you, or I'll try. We'll even take care of your dad" Okay, taking care of was a funeral in Ari's opion, but it was better than waiting for a dead man to speak.

Ari nodded, happy she wasn't going to fight with him about this. "Sure, grab what you need, we might not be coming back" Ari didn't want to worry about her having a break down here. Ari watched as she headed towards what had to be her room, once she had gone in he went to talk to the gang.
"Listen up! This will involve every one of you. We're taking in this girl here, it'll be a group effort to care for her, or teach her how to care for herself." Ari then briefly caught them up to speed. It was no suprise that when she re-entered the room they all turned to stare, speaking in small whispers. It was also no suprise how uncomfterbal it made her. Ari sighed, why did she have to be so timid?
Ari walked over and stood beside her, placing a hand on her shoulder, "This is our newest member, as you can see she's human so there's no reason to sit there staring as if she were some capitol freakshow, Got it?" They all dropped their eyes, "Good, now I expect you all to introduce yourselves and NOT scare her, understood?" Ari patted her shoulder, speaking in his quiet manner once again, "If any of them give you any problems just tell me, you'll be fine here, no reason to be afraid, we take care of our own."

Ari smiled as she said thank you, "No problem" Then he led the way back, noting the slight glances the other boys were giving her, and that she didn't stop it herself. Oh well, I'm not her parent, if she doesn't like something she'll just have to learn to stand up for herself. Ari wasn't exactly parental, he took care of bigger issues, or issues he decided were imortant enough for him to intervine, nothing more.
As they came upon the regular looking house Ari lead the way in. The house was actually bigger than it appeared, it had an attic of sorts as well as a basement, it had taken alot of work but Ari wanted to be sure there was nothing suspisious, he had made the band make 2 more houses like these. As it was there was a living room just big enough to seat everyone, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, a secret planning room and 4 bedrooms, one for Ari and now one for the newly obtained Kainda, afterall, she was a girl so she couldn't share a room with the boys here. The other 2 had 4 boys in each.
Ari followed the girl in when she saw her room, it wasn't as nice as her other one might have been, but it wasn't in disrapair. When she asked how she could help, well, that wasn't what Ari expected, but he would never turn down an extra hand. "Well, It might be helpful if you hunted and cooked, if you want to." Ari didn't really know what jobs were suitable for little girls, everyone acted like they were so fragile, and he hadn't ever been around one before. Ari cocked his head and looked at her, "What's you're name by the way?"

(Lol, I'm just so awesome you have to look up to me right? jk)

Ari nodded, his smiles weren't entirly common, "That'd be nice, most of the guys can't cook to save their life" Ari didn't mention that he was one of those, Leo had always told him he needed to be able to take care of himself completely, so Ari learned how to cook, but his idea of cooking was spearing chunks of meat and vegtibles and putting them over the fire, it was usually dry and tough, but it was food. Ari never really learned to make it taste good, not that it was a skill Ari cared about learning himself, but it'd be great to have food with taste again.
"This is very nice of you, and don't worry about catching most of it, we can get meat fairly easily." It was true, Ari was a great hunter, the others weren't bad, they caught enough for themselves and the others they tried to keep fed, another great perk to ignoring the law, no hunting restrictions.
Ari nodded, "Hello then Kainda, my name is-" Ari was inturpted by one of his men barging in, "His name is Princess sweety!" Ari's boot found the guys stomach in record time, the guy stumbled out. "My name is Ari, feel free to kick Alex at will."
Ari looked at he and smiled slightly, "Of course, maybe we can even get you to kill a few Keepers of your own." Then Ari realized that little girls may not like murdear, "if you want" he tacked on. Ari was lucky to have had Leo to teach him, add that to all his own stunts he'd developed into quite the hunter, of man and animal.
