Walking inside my house I take in a huge breath of familiar air, kind of dusty but, sweet and nature like. As I look around, memories filter in. The thousands of times I read princess books on the long, worn-out-with-love sofa. The time I accidentally let Enchant into the house, letting her make a few small dents in the floor.

From the corner of my eye, I can see into my dads room. The closet. The yellow closet with brown edges, very easy to lock. Very easy to be locked in. I remember how easy it was for my dad to just throw my in there. I remember the pain and torture I went through in that dreadful place. I can feel the blood draining from my face, slowly. The sinking feeling in my stomach was spreading and my throat was becoming dry and the taste in my mouth was bitter. I tear my eyes away from the room. I let my eyes wander around the dark, hardwood floor. The island counters of my kitchen, off to the left. The living room off to the right. The entrance to my house was almost directly in the middle of them.

There was a small room, behind the living room, which was open area, and when you went inside, is my room. My dads room is directly opposite to the entrance, going down the hall. At his door, theres a T type of hallway, you can go either way. One way is a bathroom, the other leads to a secret way into the stables and an underground room, which we call The Hide. We only go down there if something horrible is happening. Dad walks up to me, holding his hand out. I'm surprised, so I hold out my hand, palm up. My dad drops a few coins into my hand and I make a fist, with them in it. He leans down and whispers in my ear, "Please, Tally, give these to the gentleman. He helped you and he deserves the reward."[/b] With that, dad kisses my fore head right above my bad eye.

When my dad disappears into his room for a moment, I open my fist and look in. Twenty five coins. That was a lot of money! Oh dear god, how much did we have?! I slip them into a pocket I had sewn into the skirt of my dress. Standing straight, I walk over to Jack. "So, do you want to see the horses we have here? We have about six, including Enchant."
