A fish out of water(Open to all)

Naida rushed through the streets of District four. Her beloved fishing spear strapped to her back. And her spear tip necklace given to her by her deceased brother in it's place around her neck. She had been in emotional turmoil since Alba was killed in the games, memories of her brother's death in the games returned with a vengeance, on top of new memories of Alba's death. It was all too much. But she had to work and fish. Her family depended on her and she couldn't let them down. Not after all the hard work her brother had done to keep them fed. Earlier this morning she'd visited the graves of her loved ones. Her green eyes still had the reflective quality of someone about to cry. Fighting back her emotion she walked through the crowd when she noticed someone who seemed out of place. A man who looked rather scruffy, dressed in ill fitting work clothes. She watched him carefully not sure what he could be up too. He lacked the nicely sun-kissed tan and smell of salt water that District Four citizens had. He was not from here. So where did he could from? She followed quietly behind him, she the friendly spark in her eyes that was long since long from her brother's death 4 years earlier was replaced with a twinkle of suspicion. What does he think he's doing sneaking around in our District?She had an idea, prancing up next to him, falling into an overly sweet tone, "Excuse me sir, do you know what fish is spawning right know?" Of course Naida already knew this but someone from outside of Four would have absolutely no idea.

Naida glowered at him, eying the box suspiciously. She scooted the box farther away from him before sitting down. Why should she trust him? He wasn't from here, why was he even interested in what's happened to her anyway? It was nothing he could fix, nobody come fix it. Nobody could pick up all the pieces and put them back together, especially not when some of the pieces are gone. He seemed so friendly, did he not realize what the peacekeepers would do to him if she decided to scream? Why hadn't screamed? She had no way of knowing for sure what he was thinking. "Why do you even care? I'm just some brat that could turn you in. But if you must know what my problem is, it might have something to do with the fact that my older brother and my best friend both died in the stupid Hunger Games. Now I'm looking after my two younger siblings while my parents work ridiculous hours in the fishing business. And I can barely keep it together myself, never mind give them what they deserve from me. My brother died four years ago, my best friend just died this year, and I've completely lost everything I worked so hard to keep together." Her voice gained a tone that reflected how desperate she was, the ever so slight hint of insanity. She knew it. She'd cracked. And the nerve of this strange even hinting that he might understand made her blood boil all over again.

"I just don't understand why you would scream and alert peacekeepers. It would only mean another killed by the Capitol. And who knows if they will kill me? What if they lock me in a room, tie me to a chair, and turn me into some mindless servant who serves the damn president!" My voice slightly rose in the last few words."
Naida has surprised by his words, she hadn't expected something like this. She had been thinking he was going hurt her or steal from her. In her own defense though her mind was in such turmoil she didn't know what to do. A low growl escaped her lips,"No one could hate the capitol more than I do. Maybe I was going to scream because how was I supposed to know you were telling the truth when you said you wouldn't hurt me. I want more than anything for the capitol to have to pay for what they did to Alba, to Raiden, and to my sanity. But what can I do? Nothing. I've never gotten a break, why should I give one to someone else. Your not from here. What was I supposed to do?" "She could hear the lessons her brother had taught her replaying in her head. Treat others the way you want to be treated. He had told her that when she was just a little girl. As the voice in her mind faded away, she desperately willed it to come back. But it was no use. Naida looked back up at the stranger, "Where are you from? You said you've been in the woods."

"They probably think I am dead. And to them I probably am, I am ten years and probably half-way across Panem away from them... John O'martin. My name is John O'martin. What is your name ma'am?"

Naida listened and replied carefully, "I'm Naida Gardez." There was a slight hesitation, her last name tied her back to Raiden, and she looked so much like him. And honestly she was sick of being pitied for losing her brother. No words of supposed comfort could bring him or Alba back. Her two younger siblings were lighter in hair and eye color than Raiden and Naida. But they all shared many other similarities. "I'm sure your family misses you very much." Her brother was dead without a question of doubt and everyone in her family still mourned him everyday. She was sure it must be awful to have someone you love disappear, and not hear from them for ten years. "You're very brave coming into a District as busy as Four. Especially since you look so very out of place. No tan, no smell of sea salt. And most importantly, no knowledge of our fishing industries. If you want to go home, you have a long way to go. Getting out of Four in itself will be hard since we have a large population, which means a large amount of Peacekeepers."

"Naida, you seem to know alot about 4, do you think you can help me get in and out of here without being noticed by peacekeepers... I could help you out somehow."

"I know a lot about Four because I've lived and worked here my whole life." Naida had no reason to trust him. A sad story that seemed true wasn't enough earn the trust of a girl who's be clinging to the tiny bit of sanity she still had. Why should she risk being publicly executed, which would been her younger siblings and her parents would be watching. Her family couldn't take another loss, not their oldest remaining child, she was the only thing that supported the little ones while her parents work long hours, or sat home mourning Raiden. She cringed and replied, "Why should I die to get you out of here? There's no way I could get you out of here without one of us getting caught. I could be killed or beaten just for not turning you in." Her voice was low and barely audible. "How did you get in, in the first place?"
