Monte Conard (District 10)

Monte has blonde hair and big blue eyes. He's somewhat short, but uses it to his advantage. He has unusually short legs, but average arms. He never bothers to cut his hair, so it's long and shaggy. He has one big hoof mark on his stomach from where he got kicked by a cow. Monte always wears shorts, even if it is below zero. He isn't bothered by the cold.

He is missing one finger, where his older sister accidentally cut it off when they were both young. He never wears shoes, unless he has too, because he perfers the earth on his feet. He perfers one shirt, one that is stained with grease and grass. When he does cover his feet, he wears socks with the toes cut out. His eyes have a tint of brown through all the blue, kind of like his personality, put on a smile but hide it inside. He usually comes home from school beat up and hurt, as the bullies always pick on him and him alone. All put together , he is a real life version of pig pen off of Charlie Brown.

Shhh....It's quiet, that thing that Monte always is. Not the noise you hear at the schoolyard, or at the ocean, the waves crashing against the rocks of district four, but peace. The flaw of his life, that straw that breaks the camel's back. Not speaking up. When he does though, he's never right, even if he's right he's wrong. He feels like the world is against him. Wanting him to vanish like his sister. Gone in an instant.

The mistakes he made haunt him, torment and torture him. He hides, in this, this shell, where he feels protected. Away from the outside world. To himself, he is just a loner, nobody but someone for the Capitol to kill. He's a nobody, a person born by mistake.

What shows through Monte? One word, four letters, hope. Hope that somebody will care about him. The thought of that makes him happier then anything. One wish, one dream, one hope.

Abuse, mistreatment, unknown pain. You want to know why? Why? Because of the Hunger Games, that's why. Memories flood his mind, the mere thought of them makes him drop to the floor. His sister, gone, just like that, vanished with the wind. That is Monte's history. No, his parents did not hurt him, they didn't know, invisible to the torment. He wants someone to care for, to give hope to, since he can't have any. The world can change, can't it?

He knows he doesn't have it horrible, I mean come on, being an avox would be much worse. But the thought has always crossed his mind, what are my options? Run away, get myself thrown in the detention center? He couldn't do that to himself, or his family. Maybe if he was alone. Day to day life is ehh...average. Wake up, get dressed, do what's asked, go to bed. Life isn't all excitement like it is for some. But Monte likes it average. He doesn't want a crazy life. He doesn't want that world full of action, there's enough emotional distress on a day to day base.

To be in this world, aren't there challenges, bumps in the road? Maybe, and he expected it from the beginning, but not this hard. Not this painful, is there a soul in the world that has a perfect life? Live life to the fullest extent. Possible? Monte doesn't know.
