Appearance[/color]

Depending on how one views him, by first looks, Hudson is difficult to judge. He seems reserved but friendly; mysterious but open; childish but mature. However, if one thing is for sure, he does tend to have many naturally charming features. Hudson has dark brown hair, some of it swept a bit to the side. Though, none of it hangs in his face, giving him a professional appearance.

Hudson’s eyes are also dark, like his hair. There’s nothing special about Hudson’s eyes, except for the fact that they are a little narrow. His eyes are often found intimidating: dark and cold, while other times they can be joyful and childish. Hudson has thick eyebrows and his face is a bit square-like. His lips are usually straight and uniform, for he does not smile quite too often. When he does, it’s usually a very slight playful smile.

Hudson is extremely pale, from head to toe. His skin is usually as cold as ice, naturally. However, Hudson is extremely tall, towering over many. In fact, he’s also quite skinny, but has a fair amount of muscle. Hudson always wears nice clothing, giving off a warm presence, regardless of his ordinary coldness. He always stands straight, only making him appear taller. In public, Hudson looks professional and polite, with his nice clothes and fairly warm presence. He gives off a natural charm, while still seemingly intimidating.

While Hudson is fairly reserved, he also comes off as easy-going. People are drawn to his polite attitude and his handsome presence. In fact, in public Hudson is often very likeable. He socializes with others, makes friends, and gains a minor level of popularity. Sure, he’s not the kind of guy who would run for class president, but he’s still someone worth being looked up to. Regardless, Hudson is never too good with keeping friends. While his friends usually stick to his side with admiration, Hudson is often the disloyal one, never really sticking up for anyone other than himself.

He often forgets to fulfill his side of the deal, barely keeps a promise unless he gains something from it, and almost always does things only for his own sake. Honestly, Hudson is forgetful. While he is extremely organized, he tends to be forgetful a bit too often, only making it harder on others. He forgets about his friends, he forgets about where he needs to be, and ultimately, ends up doing whatever he wants.

Even when Hudson shows he has a lacking amount of loyalty to others, many people still want to be his friend. Too many are drawn to his easy-going attitude, and his laid-back, open sort of personality. He is fairly quiet, not always the loudest in the group, but this is mainly why he is respected. He is definitely not shy though. When he does have something he wants to contribute, he does not fear saying it.

While Hudson is well-respected, polite, and laid-back, he has many underlying features that most people fail to see. He cares little for others and is more focused on himself than anyone else. He is a terrible listener, and also extremely forgetful. Even so, there’s even something deeper. There’s a piece of Hudson that’s almost heartless: there’s a piece of him that longs to see chaos. Sometimes, seeing others suffering or failing makes him feel better about himself. Hudson has a hidden arrogance that he rarely shares with anyone, but quite honestly, Hudson is in love with himself. He is in love with success, especially when it’s in his hands.

Hudson’s underlying arrogant demeanor only leads to him being a disloyal and untrustworthy person, as likeable as he may be. Because he is quite honestly, secretly in love with himself, he wishes for others to be too, which is why he normally tries to make a good impression on everyone and anyone he meets. People also tend to like Hudson because he is smart. Naturally, he is extremely clever and maintains high grades in school. Still, Hudson does have his worries. He is, in no way, fearless, and often starts to get a bit tense since he’s usually out on his own. In the long run, Hudson makes a lot of promises he never keeps and gives off fake illusions of his true character.



History

Only thirty seconds had changed Hudson. If only he had been able to stop it; if only he had been able to keep what happened thirty seconds after his birth from happening, he would have. That’s how much he despised his brother. Hudson was born with a twin named Keegan. Of course, Hudson was the older of the two…by a mere thirty seconds. However, somehow being thirty seconds younger still meant more attention. From the start, the two of them were equals. Hudson was alright with being equals, not that he was really conscious of that as a baby. Though, it was as they grew older that it became more obvious that Keegan was getting the longer end of the straw.

Hudson and Keegan were both born into a higher class family: not a sickly rich family, just a smart family. Both of their parents had good jobs and brought in good money; therefore, they were never lacking food on the table or suffering from many of the other issues some people were faced with in District Nine.

Hudson and Keegan both followed in their parents footsteps and got good grades in school. Though, every time Hudson came home with a perfect report card, Keegan somehow managed to do better. Every time Hudson made a new friend, they were already a friend of Keegan’s. Every time they had running races with the kids who lived down the street, it was always Keegan who won. Keegan, Keegan, Keegan: all the time. At first, Hudson didn’t let it bring him down, but when he noticed that Keegan’s success was giving him more and more attention from their parents, Hudson started to get irritated.

It wasn’t fair to Hudson. He spent hours in bed thinking of how he could manage to impress his parents; how he could manage to show them he could be more successful than Keegan. However, his plans never worked. He was a failure, and it didn’t take long for Hudson to lose hope. What really started to annoy Hudson though, was when his father started teaching Keegan to hunt, the old profession of District Nine. Hudson was left out of this, which really brought him to the edge.

After a few years, he started taunting his brother. It was too much to see him getting all of the attention. So, he bullied Keegan, at a minor level of course. Their relationship grew extremely tense. They grew apart, Hudson’s jealousy creating a gap between the two. Hudson grew more and more independent as time went on, learning to care for mainly himself, and not for others. He was done worrying about others: they apparently didn’t need him, even if he did. If no one cared about him, why should he care about anyone?

So, that’s exactly what he did: he just stopped carrying about anyone, regardless of himself of course. He stopped supporting his brother completely, only increasing his hostility towards him. As smart as Hudson’s parents were, they never seemed to notice or even sense what Hudson was feeling. They weren’t empathetic enough to understand his loneliness.

As Hudson grew older, he had quite a few more fights with his brother, each of them getting more intense. Hudson spent as much time as he could outside the house and away from his brother. Every time he was around his brother, it seemed like he was merely being compared to him, and hidden in the shadows. When he was eighteen, and legally old enough to split from his family, that’s exactly what he did. He moved away to a small apartment building in the more urban area of District Nine. Luckily, his parents weren’t too upset. Although, Hudson might have felt quite a bit better if they had been. There, Hudson was able to escape from remaining his brother’s shadow. He continued going to school, but it felt a lot easier, without having to be side-by-side with his brother all of the time.
