How many times had he come here, (against his own better judgment and the voice that screamed in his head that this place was dangerous,) just to try to find a place he could relax at. This was going a little far, he should stop before he did something ridiculous like trying to learn how to swim. (No, he was not in some horrible little alley or a sleazy bar, Brant was at the beach.) The water lapped at the sand as he watched, (eating it away like it was attempting to climb the beach and grab him.) There was no way he would enter such a foul atmosphere, not while he lived anyway. He took a step away from the slithering waters and lifted his eyes up to gaze over the surface of the water, feeling a moment of panic like he always did as a wave rolled in and broke. Sometimes he wondered what had caused him to become so scared of the water, (but even knowing why probably wouldn't change anything, would it?)

Does , Thinks , Says , Hears

The crash of the waves from the sea soothing the boy named Jay. The crisp and clean cut of his board cutting the water as it crashes into the board. That's when the boy's eyes meet the wave he had been hoping to get. He moved his skinny arms with the wave and soon enough the board was sailing. Sailing from the wave, until it hit a sudden drop and Jay went under. Underwater he swam up and used his board as a safety floater. Then Jay climbed back on the board, his hair laying flat on his head as he paddled out to sea again. The ocean though had a wave coming and Jay couldn't climb it and then, Wham it hit him and pulled him under. The rushing of water pulling him down, but Jay was hooked to his board. The board throw him back up onto land and he laid on the beach for awhile just staring up in the sky. His voice sang out as almost a melody, but Jay can't sing, so it came out as a quote instead of a verse. "Life is bad, but knowing it can end at anytime makes you live life to the best of your abilities." Jay lays on the beach letting wave after wave hit his skin and roll back down. The water soothing his burning passion to cry. He missed everyone and everything. Surfing only brought back memories that were supposed to stay hidden.

The sound of the waves drew his gaze up from the sand, (even though his eyes didn't want to take in that view.) It was hard to hate water in the place where it was all but worshiped, (but he managed,) for all that it grew frustrating. The roar and crash was a tempting as it was taunting and he couldn't get it out of his head. (Even still, every part of him told him no.) That was when he noticed the boy surfing on one of the waves that was coming in. For a moment everything was going alright and Brant wondered what the boy would do when he reached shore, but then he suddenly dropped and Brant lost sight of him. It took a moment for him to realize that the boy was underwater, (probably drowning,) and he tried to find where the boy's board was. Relief flowed through him when he saw the boy's head reemerge from the water, though he didn't know the boy so it shouldn't have affected him like this, but it was quickly swamped as the boy was knocked underwater by another wave. This is why I don't like the ocean, or water for that matter. It attacks you, tries to kill you, and then pretends to be innocent. Then Brant watched as the boy was literally dragged onto land by his surfboard. The boy muttered something as he lay on his back, water surrounding him and receding again. Crazy fool. The thought was bitter, (but the reprieve of seeing him alright was genuine.)

The waves crashing and crashing onto him. He just laughed like a mad man, until a wave hit and made him start sputtering water out of his esophagus. He finally stood up making his way back to the shack, until he saw a boy, who obviously was watching him probably. Most people watch Jay surf anyways. It's not like a big deal to him, but they annoy the hell out of him. Jay made his way to the boy that had been watching him. Once he stood in front of the guy, he crossed his arms around his bare chest. He spoke in a annoyed tone. "What the hell is a guy like you doing watching me surf? How about I take you surfing huh?" Jay ignored Brant's complaints and began pushing him towards the water to teach me how to surf. He was annoyed with all the fans watching and not wanting to join him. Jay said in a matter of fact tone. "By the way, The name's Jay. Jay Krearns."

(Sorry that this is terribly my muse was dying</3 and just asdfghjkl; I hope its ok what I said Brant did...)

He hadn't realized how long he had been staring until the boy had gotten up. He was freshly wet from the wave that had just rolled over his face and made him splutter and Brant realized he had caught sight of him. He looked irritated, as though he didn't like being watched. Brant couldn't blame him much, (spectators weren't exactly the greatest things in the world,) most of the time people just got in the way. Watching, still, Brant waited until the boy stood in front of him, taking in the fact that he had crossed his arms and was frowning slightly. "What the hell is a guy like you doing watching me surf? How about I take you surfing huh?" His tone was filled with annoyance, though it wasn't as sharp as Brant was expecting. Still, he obviously didn't know who he was otherwise he would know exactly why he wasn't surfing. It was surprising to not be recognized as the boy who's scared of water, (but kinda nice too.) It certainly didn't happen very often, that was for sure. What was more surprising, however, was that suddenly the other boy started to push him. (The most surprising was in what direction.)

A yelp escaped him as he saw that the other boy was pushing him towards the ocean. Complaints and disagreements bubbled over from inside of him until he was almost yelling at the boy to stop. (They were so close to the water now that Brant could almost feel the spray and began to panic, flailing out an arm in hopes to knock the other boy away.) It was just at that moment that the boy decided to speak again. "By the way, the name's Jay. Jay Krearns." Brant, (lost in his panic,) almost didn't realize what he had said and very nearly smashed his hand into Jay while he struggled to stay out of the water. Looking into the other boy's eyes, (and trying to swallow his panic as best as he could,) he tried to reason his way out. "Look, Jeg, or whatever your name is, I don't surf. I would much rather just watch you do it than do it myself, I'd just end up getting hurt." (There was no way the panic was out of his eyes, but maybe that would be what saved him.) There was no way he was getting wet, not today. Not over my dead body
