Surrounded by an ever-present cloud of perfume, Isidore lives in a world of bubblegum pink and candy-striped ribbons. She is a whirlwind of powdered cheeks and glossy lips - her hair is neat and yet irreparably unhealthy. Countless dyes and treatments have contributed to her bottle blonde waves. She spends her mornings hunched over the mirror, waving off her sister's cries of narcissism in favour of black eyeliner and mascara. She dresses in lace and combat boots, long skirts and denim, her fashions inspired by the Capitol and grounded firmly in her very own upper-class street.

Isidore smiles: her pearly white teeth grin the grin of a beauty queen and her rosebud lips curl into frequent smirks. She walks with her chest forward, small waist squeezed into a corset and ribboned tightly at the back, an undoubtable air of confidence leaking from her caramel skin. She shares the same chestnut eyes as her siblings, naturally lined with thick lashes and dark, arching brows. Rarely found without ornate necklaces draping her prominent collarbones, Issi radiates wealth and confidence, having perfected her poised and collected disposition many years ago.

Isidore is superficial and materialistic, and well aware of her faults. She's generally dethatched and collected - sometimes to the point of being heartless. She's a definite flirt and a serial heartbreaker, finding it easy to manipulate people and even easier to forget her continuously growing list of victims. Despite the countless boys and girls she plays with, her mother and father are the ones who spoil her the most. Unquestioning and adoring, they've catered to Isidore's every need since she was born in an effort to make up for the child they were forced to give up, and Issi has never gone without. She's resourceful and intelligent, quick to pick up on exactly what she can get from anyone.

Careless and brimming with self-entitlement, Isidore adores her home. In her mind, she rules the streets of District One, pushing the limits of both it's inhabitants and laws. A stereotypical teenager, Issi feeds off the admiration of others and yearns for attention. She's aware of the somewhat condescending stares of some of her peers that stem from her overwhelming ego and unbreakable poise, but her automatic defence is a glittery smile and a roll of the eyes, forever the princess. Tediously innocent, Isidore plays up the role of the sweetheart her parents paved for her as they began to forge their way in society during her childhood. She's unbelievably daring and scandalous, however, beneath the pretty lies. Her friends, who follow in her wake, wide-eyed and drunk on her sugary energy, are often left wondering if there are any lines she would hesitate before crossing.

In the years before Issi was born, her parents lived in poverty. Despite being inhabitants of District One, they struggled to feed themselves and yearned endlessly for the diamonds and pearls that seemed to adorn every other person that crossed their path. With greedy eyes, they searched for a way to improve their social standing, brought together by a mutual need for more. Just as they were emerging from their youth, Isidore's mother fell pregnant for the first time. Nine months later, while they still treasured every coin, a baby girl was born that they couldn't dare keep. The Carroways were not bad people - they were simply desperate, and the child marked the difference between a life of mundane normalcy, and the chance at riches. Reluctantly, they left the baby on the doorstep of the nearest orphanage. Later, Opal would be adopted by the Shore family, destined to live a life far more grand than her biological parents could have imagined.

In the years that followed, the Carroways came upon a fortune by questionable means. They moved from their tiny house in the darkest side of town to a sprawling street in the very centre, setting their sights on the social ladder. Isidore was born, intoxicating even as a tiny child, learning early on how to get what she wanted just by asking. Her parents, guilty about the secret first child they never spoke of, obliged her every wish, as well as the requests of Iris and Elena, the two glossy sisters that followed. They lived in harmony, albeit within the shaky confines of new-money. The children grew up unaware of Opal's existence, blissfully staking claim on whatever pleased them, blessing the world with their smiles. It was only when their estranged sister became a Victor that the self-indulgent family found interest in the girl.
