Carolina is often considered very pretty by others.  Her deep blue eyes are her most striking feature.  Her long, wavy, blonde hair falls about halfway down her back and can often be found coated with seaspray.  Her skin is tan from being out on the water under the sun so much.  She is rather thin, but not unhealthily so, and could be considered tall at her 5'6.

          However, that beauty is often cut short by the coldness in her eyes and her unwelcoming smile.  

          She has lean muscles in her arms, and is not afraid to use them.  Her hands are callused and scarred from

          using ropes so often.  Carolina usually appears as though ready for a fight when on land- tense, with eyes darting from side to side menacingly, warning anyone to step in her way.  You can usually find her hands balled up into fists as though ready to throw a punch at a minute's notice.

Personality:

 Carolina is a go-out-and-do-it kind of girl.  She hates to sit around, waiting and watching for something to happen.  She loves action and craves adventure.  She can get rather antsy and tense when on land.  She feels trapped by the land, instead of the open, wild, and free feeling she gets when on water.

Carolina is drawn to the sea.  She loves to let down her hair and feel the salty ocean spray.  The sea is her life, and apart from it she is awkward and unsure.  She is skilled with small boats of all kinds.  She is also an excellent swimmer and loves to feel the power of the waves.  They make her feel powerful.

Carolina is a take charge type, a leader.  She can be a bit bossy, especially when she is on the water, where she is most comfortable and at home.  She isn't afraid to be a bit pushy and aggressive to get her way.  On land, where she is more awkward and unsure of herself, she tends to wind up in fights instead of talking her way out of a situation.  She tends to speak first with her fists, then her mouth.

Because of her nature, Carolina often has a hard time making friends.  She is seen as temperamental and overly aggressive.  Those at the harbor who are around her often tends to keep their distance.  Occasionally someone will approach her when she enters town, but rumors travel fast and unless they are looking for trouble, they will stay well away.

Carolina was born to two District 4 parents who were fairly well-off.  They were always able to provide food, clothing, and shelter to their small family.  Carolina grew up around water.  Her family owned a small fishing boat and dock that they used to make their income.  Carolina learned at a young age how to captain a boat and how to lead others, since she was the eldest child. 

She had one younger sister who was 3 years younger than Carolina.  Her little sister, Avery, was always awkward on boats and on water, and she never got the knack of captaining ships.  Therefore, Carolina was her father's favorite child, though he would never admit to it.  Her mother, the more quiet, sensitive one, always favored Avery.  However, this wasn't enough for Avery.  She always tried the most dangerous, daring moves on ships to impress her father and ended up paying the price for it.  At only 10 years old, she was thrown during a storm and drowned.  At 13, it was the lowest point in Carolina's life.  She grew temperamental and began to pick fights with the other kids when she found herself on land.  Her mother quietly withdrew from the rest of the family, hating Carolina and her father for supposedly causing the incident.  Eventually, her mother quit eating and died of starvation, despite Carolina's constant attempts to help her mother.

After her mother's death, Carolina and her father healed slowly together, growing even closer during their time on the water.  Carolina, despite her growing relationship with her father, began to draw away, spending more and more time alone on the boat.  Eventually, with her savings (her profit from the fishing boat) she bought herself a badly damaged boat.  With the help of her father, she fixed it and now uses it alone on the sea, often for days at a time.  She fishes to help with income, but spends most of the time just enjoying being alone at sea.  This has been her lifestyle for over a year now.
