There's No Going Back (Jack ~ Matt & Vy)

There's always that voice in that back of Vy's mind telling her that she has to come out on top. Like a concrete fact, and though that's been proven wrong a couple of times, it's still always true. When hurt fight back even more, a lovely motto instilled by none-other then Brittany. Shift pain -well anything- into anger, because failure is never an option. It got her this far. She really can't complain. Especially now for instances; where she remains swinging her fist, despite the pain that'd probably have most people tapping out by now. This guy's not walking away without the same amount of damage though. And sure as hell it appears his friends are all too scared to tag themselves in.

Something still has to interrupt them of course. Throughout her rage, she kept track of her opponent's hands and whether they were going to touch another career's to be replaced. That's not what happens though. Guess they've realized she's not going down faced with only one of them at a time, no matter how many times they switch out. Because a harsh shove to her shoulders is given from behind, and also provides the perfect opportunity for the one below her. Just like that it's her back on the ground, with a bloody-face of revenge on top of her.

Like anything else, Vy could manage this...but the two seconds one of her hands land on the pavement, from the brutally fast turn, a shoe digs into her fingers to keep them down. As much as she tries to free them, they only get squashed more with the struggle. It leaves her with only her right forearm to defend herself, from the guy that wants to return every last punch she gave him. This isn't how she wanted things to play out.

Unexpectedly her hand's freed, and those knuckles immediately aim for the face above her. A clash bangs out only a couple feet away, and she can only assume someone's joined her team. She's a little busy with this dude to note who it is. The other female career perhaps? Vy's squished fingers don't leave as much damage as they did before, and for some reason she's unable to pull from this one's grasp. That's when she gets to meet her new partner in crime, when the one on top of her forced off to the side by a nice kick to the ribs.

Well shit. "Nice of you to join." Vy huffs out with a smile. She'll admit she's a little surprised to see Matthew, though not really at the same time. No time to talk currently with these asses they can now easily beat as a team. She doesn't waste a second to get back to the one on the ground with her. Kindly proceeding with her knuckles, only a few times, since it already appears that he's out of it. Who's next on their list to kick?

It takes a second for the one that now has a bloody nose, thanks to Matthew, to get his brain from spinning. The alcohol's not in everyone's favor apparently. Nonetheless he does pull himself together, and with far more anger then before. Once he comes to terms that they've gained another opponent, he moves in with full speed. His partner's getting the other blonde, sort of, he can take this one easily. Immediately he swings a punch while he forces Matt to face him. If he plans on intruding, he better be prepared to join in the game. Another fast one to the stomach, and as many as he can get to excite the crowd.

"You good?" Vy asks her victim, who did come a hair close to winning. But currently he's past defeated on the ground. With slanted eyes and all, thanks to Matthew's generosity of kicking him to the floor, and her need to finish him off. A pathetic nod comes her way as if he's waving a white flag. She smiles back, though it's more for her. Excusing herself from this victory, to sit on her own ass for a second. Please say they're all too frightened to take on these two now.

There's such a temptation to lay back and forfeit. Go back inside and enjoy another pitcher of beer before passing out somewhere. They can all just laugh over this. That's not going to happen though, and Vy doesn't even really want it to. Wouldn't be as much fun. She takes a peak over her shoulder to see what her own teammate's doing. Looks like Matthew's holding his own just as well as she is. A few punches are given his way, most he deflects, and the others don't even seem to bother him.

In a couple of swift movement Matt captures one of the dude's arms and easily gets in two pro hits. The pain is so evident on his face, that Vy can't help but laugh. All of this is just a typical night for her again. They can kick these guys' asses, and go celebrate over some beer. Just when it seems like those drinks are around the corner, the rest of their group decide to join in. Only four left? Oh darn, so few.

Getting upon her feet, Vy can feel the real damage given to her knee. It's unpleasant to say the least, but still something she can deal with at a separate time. Currently they have some asses to beat. With only a small limp, she gets in position to take them on like it was nothing. Oddly nice to have a friend beside her...to join in on the fun of course. He jokes about the uneven numbers, and she gives a shrug and a smirk in return.

"They're scared, I can't blame them." She chuckles lightly and explains. Nothing can possibly take away her cockiness.

One comes straight towards her, as if thinking he'd be able to knock the numbers down to only one of them because she's almost done for. If only they knew that was an impossible task. Her forearm goes up to slow down the impact, and his knuckles hardly even reach her face. Distracted by the block, she even gets in a punch herself. It sends him staggering backwards; and her attention gets turned around when something graces across her back, almost like it was just wind though.

Seems like they were trying to double-team her, but Matthew cut in to prevent it. Honestly, she never would of guessed he'd make such a good partner in crime. Sure she knows personally how well of a good fighter he is. It's different having him on her side though.

Another one -with golden blonde hair like them- comes his way though, before he has a chance to take care of the guy he's grabbed. After everything it just feels instinct to intervene like he did. One snatch at the man's shirt and he turns his direction elsewhere. They can each take one. Well if Vy had done more then a punch to the scrawny dude. But Goldy and Scrawny? Maybe at the beginning, but not now.

"I got her!" The scrawny one attempts to claim as he tackles Vy from behind. Apparently getting the newcomer aquatinted is more important.

The one, pulled from Vy and shoved into the crowd, bounces back like they're a trampling. Now two careers move in on Matthew. No one giving a crap about a fair game anymore. Tall Goldy tries to capture Matt's arms from behind, while the short one moves in with everything he has to imprint in some hard punches. It's exactly what Vy was trying to prevent, but first she has to make Scrawny tap out. Which won't take long given she's flipping him off her like he's nothing, and both their knuckles go flying. For some odd reason Vy finds herself more alert while under the influence, while everyone else just seems sloppy.

They go plummeting to the floor, and Vy's focus goes off of the golden locks approaching her friend. Probably would of been smarter to send in the scrawny dude as backup. Because only the palms of her hands get a little scrapped up in the landing; and one swing of her elbow has the dude -trying to keep her down- off to her side. Man, does her knee hurt with every bend and fast move, but she does proceed anyways. Clambering on top of the skinny guy, in order to not make the same mistake twice with thinking he's done for. Then she'll help out Matthew.

It's frustrating how her left fists doesn't make as much of an impact anymore, not that it'd have her giving up. Complete opposite as she has to makeup for her half-asses stomped fingers, with doubling her time rate. Just because this guy weighs no more then she does, it sadly doesn't mean he's weak. Sure his knuckles don't retrieve as much blood. But he appears quite strategized. Being keen on defense despite his position. Doesn't mean Vy's not just as creative, and she manages a few nice connections.

This guy isn't completely out of it, but Matthew may need some support. Vy's head turns in his direction to see how he's doing. Still he's handling everything like a boss. He gives into the fact this isn't a fair game, and his leg swings up in-between Goldie's. The drinks finally kick into Vy, as she's unable to help but throw her head back and laugh at her teammate's move. To top things off he even dodges another punch, which goes to short stuff's friend instead. It's uncontrollable laughter, and Scrawny decides to sneak in a second wind to take advantage of this.

Without even realizing it the back of her head's suddenly hitting the ground, and it's like a button's been pushed to make her drunk like everyone else. Vision goes slightly foggy, and still loud chuckles seep from her lips. This skinny man's surprisingly skilled at pinning with only his stick for limbs. An escape doesn't come as easily, or at all for that matter. Her legs are practically useless. And her attempts to nail him, just leaves her open for a couple hits to her own face. Well frack, this isn't how it's supposed to play out.

Suddenly something carves into Scrawny's head. It doesn't have him flying off like before, but it does release his grip. One turn of Vy's hips, with the help of her hands shoving as well, has him sinking into the concrete beside her like it's his bed. Guess that blow did it for him, thanks Matthew. Now please say there's only one or two left. Because she can't defeat many more, even with his help.

"Watch out!" She tries to warn as Shorty comes up from behind Matthew. Already his elbow goes into his back as her voice trails off. They no longer have interest in entertaining, they only want to burry the two. Goldie immediately goes in for a punch of his own towards the other Blonde male. Clearly this one's going to take a lot to get defeated. And with no remorse in being fair, both of their attacks go spiraling to try and take this one down.

Once again, Vy has instinct to go and help. That's what Matthew keeps doing for her, of course she has to do the same. There's a struggle to get past her wobbling knee, and before she even manages to, the third guy's in front of her. Ironically he's holding a hand out to her. She knows fully well what this pull up will contain. It's the best way to get upon her feet though, and her own knuckles dig into his stomach as his goes to her cheek.

Instead of following up with more punches, she shoves the third back into Goldie. Probably best to take on all three together, rather then one on one and two on one. Plus the two go stumbling back, and Third even trips. Goldie takes Matthew as a shield, and Short stuff keeps with uncoordinated hits on him. After a brutal kick to the third on the ground, Vy goes after one incapable of stopping his attacks on Matt. Hopefully he can deal with the dude determined to keep his hands unusable again. Probably just angry over his inability to keep him contained earlier, and the brutal hits that resulted from that.

Not wanting a reoccurrence of last time he couldn't keep Matthew restrained, Goldie decides to take no chances this around. In a single movement he wraps his arms around him, to throw him to the ground. He remains on his toes, and wastes no time to deliver a couple of hard kicks. With Third already on that lower level, he jumps on top of Matt to try to keep them both down. One of his knuckles go flying, while the other discards of anything in the way.

There's no telling why Matthew joined in on the fight; at least she can't figure it out currently, where there's no time to consider crap. Either way he deserves the same back, and the best to defeat these guys is destroying them each one at a time. Might as well go after the one that's using him as a punching bag. Not to mention this one appears the most intoxicated with his sloppy punches, this is an easy target. After only a couple of swings from Vy it seems like he's not enjoying this game anymore, and he may very well want to join his other friends on the floor. How many does that make left? Because she'd swear they're multiplying like rabbits.

Guess Vy should of overlooked her friend's condition more, because somehow she's again wrongly assumed that she defeated one. Two attack Matthew, with one kicking and the other on top of him. Man, these Careers just don't know when to quit it. Is that what happens when there's no bad bitches like her around to keep them in place? Without thought or hesitation she goes after the one kicking. Miraculously she even gets the element of surprise from the loud audience, and his lack of paying attention to anything but where to kick without harming his teammate.

Since this guy likes kicking so much, let's see how he'll take it. And with Vy's bad knee and all -given she'd probably embarrassedly trip trying to balance on it- she gives a hard swing at his own stance. Like a kid's first day at training he plunges to the ground to join the others. A hard connection of her shoe to his back, and she leaves him be. He sure as hell better be smart enough to not get up.

The energy has seeped from Vy like a vehicle running on fumes. It takes a lot to not just sit on the ground. But she settles for gulping in air as her palms rest on her knees, even while one is still wobbling in defeat. She won't let it cave. Not when they've finally got everyone else on the floor. And yes, even Matthew manages to stumble his way up. She has to let out a single chuckle over the fact that they made it...not that she ever doubted they wouldn't. But as always she takes her victory too soon.

Again she failed at declaring one down. It's the one from before, whom she was certain was done for. Plus the the one kicking Matthew played a much bigger threat. Well, till now. Something wraps around Vy's neck, and instinctively her fingers curl around the forearm to try and pry herself free. This isn't just a warning to back off either, as the choke only tightens. With the fight always in her she attempts to nail her elbow into him. Only to no success since the grip doesn't release in the slightest. You're done.

What? No, that's impossible. This is Vy, the unstoppable. But as much as she jams her weakening elbow into him, he doesn't budge. Not until someone else hits him hard enough, and in a blink of an eye he's bent over on the side. She pulls in as much oxygen as she can to refill her lungs. Unwillingly sinking to her knees.

As difficult as it is she forces herself to look around. No more. A sigh escapes before she continues to suck in air. Sure she may not be fully on her feet, but her teammate and her are certainly on a higher level then those ass holes moaning on the floor. There's no victory here, not for either sides. "I need a beer." Vy mutters and drags herself to her feet. There's an instinct to stagger right inside, but she stops at Matthew first. "You coming?" Because she's definitely not going home like this, not with Brittany and Brooklyn there. The bar's the best place anyways.

The shoes around Vy's feet don't really make it off the ground much. Somehow they do manage to get to Matthew though, and even all the way to the bar. It's quite an accomplishment; and she's as excited over this as Brooklyn was when she first learned how to walk by herself. Well she doesn't express it like the Rugrat did, but she will reward herself with a refreshment. There's no care over the crowd, or those obnoxious young careers -they may or may not of beaten-, only for a beer. She does find gratitude that Matthew's still joining her after everything. Now to just get past those two steps and celebrate...or, in better terms self medicate.

"I know." That's the old Vy muttering away a compliment. "You did to, thanks." And there's the side slowly changing into a better Vy. They don't have to mention the fact she would of gotten her ass beaten if he didn't step in, right? She'll buy them a pitcher instead in return.

Only takes a couple of winces to get past the steps, and soon enough they're leaning against opposite walls in the hallway inside. Vy will certainly not oppose to a small break. Looks like Matthew needs it just as much as he pulls out an inhaler to help him out. How Vy would love something like that, hence her reason for going after some beer. Briefly she gives him a half-assed grin before her eyes drop to the floor in exhaustion.

As soon as the door opens, she becomes alert again. Well, her posture of leaning again the wall doesn't alter, but her vision goes strait towards who's entering. First it's a small group from the audience, who only stroll by with some goofy grins and stare at the two they just watched battle. Then a couple from the actual fight come in as well. They on the other hand, are as sloppy as the leaning Blondes.

There's no doubt they're probably filled with rage, but they still go past them without any confrontation. Good, that must mean tonight's over with in the violent aspect. A concern arises from Matthew, followed by a question on whether beer is really necessary. His own face has blood on his chin, with dirt -covering future bruises- everywhere. Vy doesn't even want to consider how she looks. Does that mean alcohol is out of the picture? Frack no.

"There's no way i'm making it home with this knee, unless I don't remember it in the morning." She admits and shrugs over the comment that she doesn't look too good. The rest of the blood from her nose seems to be on her sleeve, plus she needs some alcohol. She gestures her own head towards the bar when he mentions how much he hates this. Now she has to purchase some, so she doesn't feel guilty that Matthew was involved. "Come on, a beer will help you to. I'll buy." She's convinced over the matter and slumps her way to a barstool.

In no time a bartender is delivering them two mugs of beer, and Vy forces her head up from resting on her arms. "Well at least it seems like you got some pent up anger out from that." She gives her type of cheers. Sliding her beer over to gently bump into Matthew's, since she's too lazy to do anymore. Seconds later she takes a large enough gulp that none spills out when she clumsily sets it back down.

There's no explaining why, but a nice cold beer always taste the best after a good fight. How the sting manages to distract from the pain if only for a moment. It's hard for Vy to pull her lips away, she does after a bit at least. Gotta acknowledge the fact that something might of actually came out of this; Matthew's sitting next to her willingly, unlike only thirty minutes ago. And the fact he sort of agrees, has her smiling past the discomfort of these newly (and old) forming wounds.

Was Vy's entire purpose to force Matthew from his pitiful shell? She's never needed one before, but perhaps. "Would of happened anyways." Still she only shrugs it off like anything else. "But basically, just sped things up." Guess she should be a little honest since he helped her ass. It still would of happened anyways though. This just gave her a purpose, and that always adds in more of an impact to her attacks. Alright, she's a little thankful.

Surprisingly Matthew seems to be as well. Prediction just went to that this would anger him, given the conditions it left them in. Complete opposite apparently. As much as she doesn't want to waste her energy on lifting her glass for anything but a sip, she gives the proper cheers that Matt gestures for with a raise mug of his own. Well sweet, another thing arose from this brutal encounter. "You to." She comments back. It most definitely wouldn't of turned out this way if he didn't play his part as well. Help each other out, right?

The cheers isn't a complete waste, the rim still meets with her mouth for another gulp prior to setting it down. Now to just get shit-faced, and she'll somehow -hopefully- make it home. With both of their beers practically empty, she tiredly holds up her arm for another round. If only Matthew didn't have different plans though. Before a bartender can even notice her, he's nudging for them to go. He claims the risk of leaving her here to cause more crap, and she can't really argue; Both because it may be true, and the fact she has no to energy to resist.

"Oh darn." She sarcastically replies about the second round. She's in no shape for one anyways. But beer, she always has a second wind for that. "Wait...what about..." Her voice trails off as she looks back at their seats. Obviously Matthew's not going to give into the excuse of just one more. Nope, they're leaving and she finds no protest in her.

"No getting your mind in the gutter, you already have one baby on the way." Vy can't help but joke as they travel down the deserted road. Not like anyways listening out here, if anyone was even around. "Plus you and Ky are cute together." Shut up Vy, with the damn drunken truth. "And she's like the only female I can stand." Finally she seals her lips and chuckles at herself. Eyes close tightly in attempt to shake off the alcohol. Can't lose her don't get drunk in a ditch buddy, not when either could fail at making it home.

It's best that they've headed out. Seems the more everyone drinks, the more violent everything becomes. And with opposing teams still present in the bar, it becomes nothing but a risky matter. Least now there's a good chance these two will make it home safely, considering. No recognition is even given to the ones they beat, as they're asked whether they're friends. No, they just randomly felt liking kicking some asses with a random stranger. Somehow even Vy manages to keep her witty remarks for another time. Those dumb wannabes don't deserve it.

But Matthew on the other hand... Guess it's only friends that she feels are worthy of giving her jokes to, despite how ironic that is. He doesn't even get offended, only concerned over whether anyone heard. Even blackout drunk Vy's smarter then that, and she sadly didn't get to reach that point. It's so tempting to smack his hand away from physically making her shut up, but she doesn't want to risk losing her crutch. Doesn't take long for him to bring his arm back to his side anyways. "I'm not stupid." She claims afterwards, though her tone holds nothing but humor.

To not laugh back with Matthew is impossible. This is just an hilarious event all together after everything they've been through. Both being prime examples of tonight, yet only battling in meaningful crap until this. How far they've come. And it's not until now that they're actually acting like this, and friends. Of course Vy would never think about anything more, that'd be like incest. It is fun to joke though.

It takes a second for Vy to register that she's included in the female category, and there for Matthew was attempting at an insult. Would of been good if she comprehended it faster. "Oh, right!" She lets out the understanding and another puff of a laugh at the end of her short sentence. Obviously if he couldn't stand her, he wouldn't be here right now, let alone of saved her ass. Another funny factor in this. Never predicted that this is what good friends are like. The comedy is just the cherry on top.

Feels like they're never going to make it to their destination; and it goes quiet as they concentrate on walking. Doesn't really help at all. Cocky Matthew references a desire for a sleepover, and mentions the fact that Vy and her mother have to keep their hands to themselves. Not an issue for her, but Brittany? "Are we going to paint each others' nails?" She mockingly asks with a grin, and a small trip in their walk from her bad knee. "Perfectly fine with me. I can't make any promises for Brittany." Might as well warn him, though hopefully the witch will be asleep.

It's not until now that Vy finally realizes where they're headed. It's only logical given the pub was on the outskirts of town, just a few blocks from her place. "Shit, I left my bike." She points out with a mutter, though not too concerned. Happened before, she'll pick it up in the morning. Probably best anyways. She staggers up the stairs with no grace from her one knee. "Shh." She can't help but chuckle again as she fishes for her keys. Least she remembered that.
