Adrenaline still raced through her veins, making her feel like her whole body was pulsing. She felt so alive, like she could take on the whole world and nothing would take her down. She knew this feeling wouldn't last for long, but for as long as it id she would cherish it, hungrily eating up the way her whole body seemed to hum with electricity. She longed to share this feeling with her sisters, but knew that that could never happen, she knew that they would never sway from the rock hard norms and rules set for them to live, She knew that they would follow there parents word, never breaking stride in fears that they may lose everything, in fear that their parents would just toss them to the street- stripping them of their name and everything that they had grown up to know. 

And maybe deep down She feared that too, maybe that was why when she was around her home, family and family friends she put on that charade, that charade of being the perfect daughter, the perfect hair to her families fortunes. But how long would that last? How long will she be able to hide who she really is? She knew that this facade of hers couldn't last forever, it was only a matter of time before she broke, before she meet someone who knew her as Oli and not as Olivia- after all this district that she lived in was only a small portion of the whole of Panem. 

My attention is dragged back to Alfan has he speaks, my attention momentarily distracted by the dazzling grin painted across his lips. Slowly more often than not Oli was rewarded with one of these grins, one that rememinded her that spread further than just his lips, reaching his eyes making Oli smile just as broadly. His grins were always contagious, it didn't matter what mood she was in, or if she was angry or upset or frustrated, as soon as he smirked at her, as soon a she even saw a ghost of a grin she was gone. All her anger, frustration evaporating in moments. At first it had scared her. Scared her to think that someone could so easily sway her mood so fluently. But slowly she was leaning to like it, like that she actually had someone that she could call a friend. 

”Well at least they learnt their lesson.”

Her smile grows at this, and she gives a small laugh, her fist bumpping into his shoulder playfully. "Though I think you could improve on your aim a bit more," She teases. It was not like her usual words of steel. Words that could slice the air, engrossing themselves into the feelings of those she directed them at. She didn't attack him in the way she attacked others, her words instead of harmful were laced with a cheekiness that was not often heard. "Like honestly, I could throw better when I was 5." Smirking she flips her hair over her shoulder, her eyes dancing with amusement.

As soon as the words leave her lips his face collapses. Just like the eggs we had thrown, his shell cracks and she sees something flash behind his eyes. It was almost as though he didn't understand that she was joking. Maybe she hadn't made it clear enough, her mind, her body still caught up in her old harsh antics. An applogy dances on the tip of her tongue, waiting to be thrown into the space between us when he speaks again, and instead of appologising she laughs.  ”At least I was getting the top floor, you were just targeting the same place.” His frown melts into something more relaxed as he thought the small battle going on within him.

Curiosity bit at her sides, her eyes searching his face, trying to figure out just what he was thinking. Oli has never really been good at reading people, her superior attitude  always making her blind to other people, it was like their pages were smudged with ink, ink she had smeared on by accident. ”At least I can move fast. I am sure my dead grandma can run as fast as you can. Damn, you’d be easy to catch.” Suddenly he was winking in her direction, his face once again painted in a grin that made her heart skip a beat- almost making her miss attack that flew straight from his lips. 

But she caught it, her face forming one of hurt, mocking him. "I was slow? Me?" She places a hand to her heart, closing her eyes for a moment, dragging the moment on, exaggerating her movements by adding a small sigh. "You sure know how to hurt a girls feelings." She peaks up at him, opening her eyes slightly, and pursing her lips, hoping that he would catch on to the joke quickly.  

Suddenly her face splits into a wild grin, her hand snaking into her bag and pulling out one of the last remaining eggs, her crystal blue eyes dancing with mischief as she took a step closer to him. She tosses the egg up in front of her, her left hand catching it easily, rolling it between her fingers. Her right hand is planted on her hip, as she tilts her head to the side slightly. She purses her lips, "You know what happens to people who tease me?" She asks, taking one step closer, her eyes glued to his. She is standing close to him now, her head tipped back ever slightly so that she could keep their eyes locked. "I know what happens. Bad things happen." Her face is smug, as she looks up at him through her lashes. "I could show you if you liked." She asks, dangling the egg above his head lazily. 

Well she liked to think the egg was above his head- and it would of been had she been a hell of a lot taller.... Instead it kinda just lingered at his shoulder, not as threatening as she had hoped it would be, but it would have to make do. It didn't surprise her when he mocked her, his voice not even laced with the tinniest once of fear. But that didn't faze her, instead she loosened her grip on the small time bomb between her fingers, her grin widening ever so slightly. She liked that the way he just played along with her tricks and games, it made her feel like he cared, cared enough to appease her and her small but easily pleased mind. 

”Are you sure you can even reach above my head? Do you need a stepladder?” She purses her lips as he mimics pulling a ladder out of nowhere, her hands flying to her hips, the egg clutched tightly. As he speaks he chuckles, making his shoulders shake slightly and it sets her at ease, her quick defenses melting only within moments, her face going from smug to amused. She doesn't say anything for a few moments, the egg still cradled in her hand gentle, her eyes searching his face, before suddenly she whips her hand onto his chest, the egg a cushion which bursted instantly. Bits of shell and yolk spill between her fingers, running down her pale skin. She smiles and with her second hand smears it around his chest. She wasn't quite sure what his reaction might be, but she knew, even if it was anger, she would be able to handle it because she was Oli freaking Harper and she could handle an angry teenager. 

Once she was pleased she took a step back, shaking her hands her eyes examining the piece of art in front of her. She wasnt game emough to meet his eyes- not yet- her body shaking as a laugh began to dance through her, slipping past her lips and into the night air. "You know," She sys slowly meeting his gaze, "I think egg is your color." Her laughter dies down and she just smiles, her deep blue eyes still dancing with amusement, "it goes nicely with you eyes."

Her fingers were sticky, the eggs insides making them feel slightly umcofortable. slinging to her pale skin. Usually she would have complained, making a big deal but today she didnt. She was slightly afraid, even though she told herself that she wasn't- after all he was just a guy- he was her friend right? He couldnt get too angry at her in the end. It was just a  joke. But she didnt know him all that well, I mean they had talked for a while not but did she really know him? Hell he barely knew anything about her. He only knew what she wanted him to know- what she wanted everyone to know.  He didnt really know the real her so could she actually call him a friend?

For a moment her amusement felt cold, her smile dropping. It was all a facade, she realised and for the first time she didnt like it. She didn't like that this boy, this boy she had grown so fond of knew nothing. But did she want him to know? Really know? It would change everything. Maybe he wouldn't look at her the same way, the way they made her want to smile, the way that could warm her skin even if it was slightly cold out. Hell maybe he'd even hate her. He didnt need to know, she decided in the end, her smile reforming on her face as he rubs his fingers through the yolky surprise on his chest. 

Her eyebrows raise as he steps towards her, the space between them growing even smaller as he reaches out his hand, placing it to her face, his hingers rubbing some of the mess onto her clear skin. Instantly she recoils, her face masked with disgust. The smell of raw egg yolk slips towards her nose as she hastily tried to rub it from her face with her hands. 

“It looks good your face too.”

Yeah right. 

She gives him a tight lipped smile, her face still screwed up. She wipes her hands on her thin cardigan, trying, but failing to rid her fingers of the sticky mess, before using it on her face- but only smearing the mess before actually doing any good. ”You’ve ruined my shirt now, thank you... It stinks; I’ll have to take it off.” She looks up at him quickly, her eyes dancing with surprise. At first she had thought he was only joking, but then she watched as he started to peel off his shirt, revealing a tones body beneath. Usually she would have stared, with a smug look on her face, but tonight she looks away, her cheeks slightly rosy. 

She was annoyed that he could make her feel like this, so instead of looking away, she forces herself to look, her face goring smug as a grin hooks the corners of her lips. She places one hand to her hip and makes a big deal of staring, hoping to make the boy in front of her feel slightly intimated by the way her eyes search his bare chest. Years of hard work and training sculptured his body and she smiled to herself, her earlier awkwardness disappearing as she became more confident,  ”Warm night.”

His words make her smile hook up higher, her eyes dancing. "Warm night it sure is," she says, before fanning herself with her hand. "And look- look at the mess you've forced me to make on my cardigan!" Then without another word she begins to shrug out of her cardigan, tossing it to the side. Under her cardigan was her spots crop top, leaving her midriff bare (which was toned nicely.) She doesn't pick up the jumper, it was an old one and would be no good now, instead she just turns to Alfan, words slipping past the guard of her lips, "lets call it even."

Her grin only grows as she watches the boy become flustered. She loved the way it made her feel to have this affect on him. It made her feel powerful in a way, and she liked it. Power was something that she craved. Having grown up with having no power over herself, over her actions what so ever she has learnt to love the way it made her feel, the assertion that came along with it, the way she could make people shake, jump do anything she wanted... Sometimes fear was the key to power, other times it was infatuation or lust or even love. Over time she had learnt how to work all of them to her favour, mastered the way to manipulate people- mold them the way she liked them. 

She watched as Alfan's eyes danced back and forth between the space between them and she found herself wandering just was exactly was running through his mind. Tilting her head to the side, she studied his face, but he seemed to hide his feeling well, Oli left staring at a wordless novel. 

”Well that is a good even to call.”

She raise an eyebrow- so easy to fold. Had it have been her, she might of challenged him further, yanking him from his comfort zone by the feet. But she does nothing. But instead of mocking him she keeps her lips zipped, sure that she was close to have her tongue bitten off- after all she had ruined a perfectly nice shirt (though he did look better with it off rather than on, but she would keep that to herself.)

Crispy wind bite at her bare skin, making small goose bumps form along her skin, as he speaks once again, disturbing the long silence which had formed.  "What do we do now then?" At his words she looks around them. The sun was long gone, sucked beneath the horizon replaced with the small crescent of a new moon. Stars winked down at them from high above, small clouds wisps dancing back and forth to a rhythm that only they could hear. It honestly was a beautiful night, despite the slightly chilly air. Mesmerized by the night around her she almost forgets that she is not alone-


"What time is it?" She whispers, almost to herself.


Suddenly she is alert, her heart begining to thump harder in her chest. She was late, she didn't need to see a clock to know that it was past curfew and that her mother would be fuming. The thought instead of making her worry made her feel a spark of excitement. The thought of her mother fuming brought pleasure rather than fear. She knew she ought to head home, she knew she ought to face the woman but as her gaze wandered from the sky to Alfan she found herself wanting nothing more than to stay out all night, away from the beast and in the company of someone worth being around. 

But despite how much she wanted to, she knew she couldnt. 

With a sigh on her lips she speaks, her voice deflated, the light dying from her eyes. "I dont know about you, but its time I headed home. Theres- ah- something I need to deal with."
