Rachel had finally caved. She initially was thinking she'd go solo in the Hunger Games, but feeling that she may actually be safer in an alliance, the career girl found the people she figured that she could trust the most. These two girls in particular were from Districts Four and Eight. They seemed like civil enough human beings, and she thought that that would be the best kind of ally she could find at this point. It was often difficult to find people to trust in every day life. It was even harder when everyone had to kill one another to survive.

Kimmie, the girl from Eight, was the first to approach Rachel that day. A very simple, casual greeting came from her, which seemed quite unusual when one was in a training center, getting ready for their fight to the death. Regardless, Rachel acknowledged her.

”Hey, Kimmie. I see you're in a rather bright mood today.” Rachel commented. The girl from Two pushed her hair out of her face and then spoke again. ”What were you guys thinking of working on today? Survival skills? Weapons?”

Rachel knew that training was essential, especially as it inched closer and closer to the Games. She needed to be prepared, even if she'd trained at home in the past with other Careers. Her father had always pushed her to train, and eventually volunteer, so Rachel did just that. Now, however, was the time the it mattered. The Games were soon, and Rachel didn't want to be unprepared. That would just get her killed. She needed to be ready, and she figured that getting her alliance ready, too, was the only way they could all protect each other.
