He'd been a third wheel of his birth family for a long time. Gabe was never a top priority, and they made it well-known to him. Even though he was part of a family with wealth, any sort of allowance was poured down the drain by his mother and father's 'necessity' items. Somehow, that always made him laugh. It was because of Gabe that they used all of their money. His coming into the world upset his parents, as sex was pleasure. After that, they spent all of their money and time and affection toward each other, so they could be happy.

The only negative aspect was that it made Gabe, they're only son, unhappy. He was a needy child at first, always begging his parents to take him out to get his short brown hair a little cut if it got too long. As they years went on, however, independence defined him more than neediness. Gabriel Alexander worked for what he wanted and what he needed, doing little jobs for people who were willing to spare a few dollars.

The problem was laid in his parents' greediness. The savings he hit under his bed at night always managed to disappear, and it didn't take long for the thirteen year old boy to realize what was happening to his lost cash.

His parents were not willing to value him, but worse was the fact that they prevented him from valuing himself.

So, he ran. Gabriel ran from home. He walked and ran, slept and cried. He was cold during the nights up until one day when an older gentleman asked him if he needed a home.

"Yes," he said to him, a sigh of relief quick to follow. "please."
