Curse has been grumpy since Day 1 of the Games. Since Mason the male tribute from 4 died at the winner's hand. Since Learna was betrayed by her alliance. Since Peridot won over Wednesday. It was all too much for him. Even though he was a Career and was supposed to accepted the fact that kids die every yearbut he couldn't handle it this year. Not with the everything that was going on. His body was on edge, pains in his chest, high fevers, lost voice. It's just how the childhood sickness routine started. Oh great, well, the hospital hasn't seen me in a while. A visit could be beneficial. Curse smirked to himself as he grabbed a towel out of the linen closet in the Jinx household. From a closet full of colorful bright designer towels (yes Panem does have designer towels) he chose the plainest one there was. Pure white and soft puffy cotton material. Wearing nothing but purple and white plaid swim trunks and a pair of flip flops, he headed out for the beach. Which is probably the only source of comfort to to Curse these days.

A paradise of open fresh air, warm beds of sand and the sound of seagulls flying overhead. The soft white of the sand and the sharp, sparkling, sapphire of the ocean were Curse's comfort. To know that this glimmer of hope was never going away. It seems counter productive going out in the sun when he's getting fevers. But don't fevers mean that my body is trying to fight off an infection? urse wondered quietly was he trotted down the hill towards the beach. He didn't pay much attention to the walk on the beach. It was quiet and uneventful. He walked down the beach looking for the perfect spot to lay down and just relax. Heading west for a little bit he decided on on a spot not too far away from a surf shack. It wasn't busy so it wouldn't be too noisy and provided just the right amount of socialization if needed. Unsure of what to do next he just laid there, soaking up the rays of the bright warm yellow sun. Listening to the laughter and shrills from the kids playing in the water he question to himself how could they could be having fun when teenagers are out killing each other out where god knows where.Man why can't I have that kind of innocence again? Curse asked himself. As he stared off into the open ocean his heart yearned for the sweetness of innocent ignorance.

Knowing that he might falling down the health ladder again he decided to try and live every moment he can. Though soaking up the sun was fun and gave a person a good tan, Curse needed a little something more. Sitting himself up, he propped his arm on of his knees. Looking at the shack, wondering if he could ever eat food again.Why am I thinking of Death? Cursed asked of himself. It's not like I'm actually dying, I'm just getting sick he told himself.Maybe I can still go for a run. Wow being ill is starting to go my head.He told himself. He hopped up to his feet and jogged father up west along the water line. The water lapping at his feet creating a magnet for the dark sand to his feet. He ran for about 3 miles before the coughing starting again. Painful from the force and wet, it caused Curse to keel over himself. The coughs racking his body like no other. He decided to lay down again but he sees one of the most beautiful people ever. The kid was tall and slim yet somehow elegant in the way he moved. And his left arm had the greatest sleeve ever. His jaw so angular and strong. His face was just to melt for. Somehow his presence seemed majestic and wonderful to be in. And his hair was deep and full and made you want to run your fingers through it. He had to come up with an excuse to him without being so obvious. What if he isn't gay? Curse asked himself. He had a horrible habit of falling for straight guys, just another testament towards his name. Pretending that he was just walking along he went up towards the majestic man and asked the dorkiest question ever!“So the weather looks lovely today doesn't it?”

Does, Thinks, Says, Hears

Jay had been having one of the hardest weeks in his life. He had watched his last relative die right in front of him. He had been keeping the surf shack up and running. He had also been keeping up with his career training for Mason mainly. Mason has been the main thing that has him upset. Though a few things that were good had happened. He got a new employee. Jay frowned as he did his daily routine, except today was special. More special than the rest of the week. Jay was getting Mason's token today. Jay decided to be closed at the shop for today. He got dressed in a tank top and a pair of shorts and sandals. Sure it was winter and cold, but Jay didn't care. Jay got up and jogged out of the house.

Jay jogged most of the way to the justice building, the last place he had seen Mason. He cringed under the memory. He walked inside and some district man frowned at him. Jay shook it off and went to the front window. Jay frowned and the lady knew what he was here for. The lady reached into a cabinet and pulled out the shark tooth necklace. The tears began to form in Jay's eye. He manned up and grabbed the necklace and left the building. He softly cried as he walked along. He sighed at himself, he was a mess. He took a deep breathe and put on a fake smile and fixed himself. He frowned again, but continued on with no tears. He made it back to the shack alone and sad. He sobbed for awhile inside. He got up after sobbing his heart to his content.

Is this really what you're doing Jay? You are crying over our pathetic brother's death?

Oh shut it Davy. You're the one to die first.

And whose fault is that?

Davy did have a point. Jay did sort of freak out while his brother had bleed to death. He grabbed the shark tooth and clenched it. The tears rolled down his eyes, he had lost both of his brothers to sharks, one an actually shark and the other Peridot, who had won. Jay had a few bones to pick with that victor. Just a few. More like 200 bones to be exact. Jay chuckled at his own joke. He got up and smiled a smile that he hasn't had for a long while. Jay marched outside and stared at the ocean. It was clear and blue. There was no wind, so not a day to surf, maybe just a day to relax. That's what Jay needed very badly at the moment a day to relax.

Jay walked along the beach in his tank top and shorts. He walked past many careers and such. He smiled at each one of them. He walked down the beach with his hands in his pockets. Thats when he heard a voice that scared him half to death. It was deep and sexy.

“So the weather looks lovely today doesn't it?”

Jay turned around and tripped over his own feet like an idiot. He was jumpy today. The necklace bouncing as he fell. When he got up and brushed the sand off, his eyes meet the most beautiful man he has ever seen. The man had been very ripped, unlike Jay who was slim. His blonde hair was set up messily, but it looked good on the man. The man had a bit of stubble on his face. Jay didn't dare look into his eyes, but he did. He saw blue eyes that shined like the ocean that was right next to him. Jay was a bit dumbfounded. He blinked and smiled at the handsome man. Jay began to speak, but was having a hard time at coming up with words.

Oh, errrrrr..... Hi... Yeah the weather does look nice today. Its sort of calming, its nice after all the storms we have been having this winter. I haven't even gone surfing because of the huge storms. Oh... I forgot to tell you my name. er... I am Jay. Jay Krearns.... Maybe you have heard of me....

Jay bite his lips. Maybe the guy would recognize the necklace, he hadn't meant to be a bit vain, but he did seem like it now. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.... Jay finally let his smile fall. He moved his hands to his pockets from being nervous around this muscular guy. He was sexy. Very sexy. Jay may mess up a lot, but hopefully he didn't mess up this time around.

Curse was still beating himself up for asking that super question. 'So the weather looks lovely today...'Really Curse really? Wow he must think your some dork now.Curse couldn't dare to look at Mr. Sexy Man but he started to fall. He couldn't let the beautiful man fall so he lunged to catch him. He put his arms around the others waist and caught him, not without feeling him up of course. The man was slim but he had muscle, something that was wonderful to Curse. The falling angel wasn't just skin and bones but he worked out a little bit as well. He helped Mr. Sexy back up and his hands lingered for maybe a little bit too long but Curse didn't care. He waas H-O-T HOT! Curse let his hands go and asked the man his he was ok. The man replied'Oh, errrrrr..... Hi... Yeah the weather does look nice today. Its sort of calming, its nice after all the storms we have been having this winter. I haven't even gone surfing because of the huge storms. Oh... I forgot to tell you my name. er... I am Jay. Jay Krearns.... Maybe you have heard of me....' Krearns, wasn't our D4 guy a Krearns?Curse asked himself. Looking back at the guy, Jay, he noticed that he wasn't the only awkward one in this situation.Yes I'm not the only awkward guy!Curse cheered mentally. He liked the fact that his voice was a little shaky and nervous. It made a great contrast between his look and his personality that Curse found adorable and attractive.

“Hmm the name sounds familiar but I don't recognize you I'm sorry to say” Curse quietly replied, too shy to use his normal loud bass voice. He just totally lied to Jay. Of course he knew who he was. He was Mason's little brother. Mason being the D4 male tribute who died during the Bloodbath. But he didn't want Jay to think that he wanted to be with him just because he was famous. Curse wanted to get to know Jay better and he was extremely hot. He couldn't muster up the courage but he couldn't not talk either so he introduced himself. “I'm Curse Jinx, it's nice to meet you Jay. And yes the storms have been a little frustrating. Some people are surfing but it's smart to not surf in this kind of weather.”Curse turned to Jay and addressed him. Trying to use his seductive voice. Maybe he could like meCurse hoped and prayed. He was majorly crushing on Jay and didn't want to seem to awkward. He put his body straight up yet relaxed and smiled back at the boy. He just noticed that Jay had a really nice smile as well.“You have a really nice smile.” Curse slipped out. Did I really just say that? He question himself. He looked away and chuckled at himself while shaking his head a little bit. Something about this man just seems to make Curse melt and makes him forget how to speak, but he enjoyed it. He enjoyed the feeling of butterflies in his stomach and the excitement of dating as amazing to him and he wanted to old onto that feeling. He smiled back at Jay.

The guy had caught him. The guy had caught him and touched his arm. The sexy guy. He had caught Jay from falling. Jay felt like the hot guy was a savior, an angel. His Savior.His Angel. Jay smiled at this angel who had saved him from falling. The angel was smiling back at him. He had the ripping muscles that Jay just wanted to touch. He had the bluest most beautiful eyes ever. He could just stare at them all day. He was just gorgeous. Jay couldn't let his eyes off of him.

Jay! Snap out of it! He is talking to you!

“Hmm the name sounds familiar but I don't recognize you I'm sorry to say”

Jay chuckled. Of course he didn't know him. Not a lot of people want to know the brother of a crazy boy who died in the Bloodbath. It didn't matter though. He wasn't famous anyways and he knew that. He always knew that. Maybe the necklace was all the trouble it has caused. It's sort of a good thing people wouldn't know him. So they wouldn't pity him for the death of his brother. He was still normal. Jay smiled at the hunk in front of him. This guy seemed like a career. Maybe if he did know. He would probably never have talked to him. He stared at the hunk again. Losing himself in the hunk's eyes. Why hadn't he seen him before. Before everything went downhill.

Am I gonna have to do this every time? He is talking to you again Jay. Pay attention.

“I'm Curse Jinx, it's nice to meet you Jay. And yes the storms have been a little frustrating. Some people are surfing but it's smart to not surf in this kind of weather.”

Jay smiled at the boy. Jay stared at the waves as they rolled in. The crashed against the sand softly. it was sort of relaxing, but relaxing was evil. Especially after the last time he surfed when the ocean was relaxing. Davy died. Davy didn't die from the shark, but died from the loss of blood. Jay tried. He really did try to help, but was too slow. Then the next day when it was relaxing, he had found Mason in the forest with a bear that had cut him. Jay had carried him. Then the last relaxing day of the ocean was the death of Mason. and now today, when he got to cursed necklace. Curse. That was this hunk's name. That is a nice name. Maybe Jay can cast a Curse on him. Jay smiled and chuckled at his small joke. That's when Jay hears Curse speak again, much more seductive and flirty than before.

“You have a really nice smile.”

Jay chuckled at the boy. He did this whenever someone commented on his smile. He hated his smile, but it was the only way to show he was ok. Jay held himself together. He was not going to be nervous. He was not going to be nervous. He began to speak, but nervousness took him over.

"er... Thats a unique name. I like it..... I hate my smile... but thanks anyways. You errrr are se.... er....I mean you have a nice smile too?"

Jay smiled back hoping to hide what he almost said. He was going to say Curse was sexy, but that would be terrible. What if Curse was straight? Jay bite his lip. He stared at Curse. He seemed a bit pale. Jay rose an eyebrow and spoke normally.

"You look a bit pale Curse. Are you ok?"

Jay step forward a bit closer. Jay got up on his tip toes and kissed his forehead. His mother used to do that to him when he had fevers to check. Jay stepped back from Curse. Curse was awful warm. Too warm. He could tell. Jay knew what he had to do.

"Curse, you're awfully warm. I am taking you to my shack, so I can take your temperature fully."

Jay stared at Curse. He had to take him back to the shack. he could not let Curse stand out there in the cold. He might get worse. Jay grabbed Curse's hand in a friendly way and lead him to the shack. Jay opened the door. He let go of Curse's hand. He went to the drawer behind the counter and pulled out a thermometer. He took Curse's temperature and saw that Curse had a fever. Jay shook his head. He spoke normally.

"You've got a temperature. Lets get you to bed.

Jay lead Curse to the room in the corner. He let Curse climb into the bed. Jay sat on the bed and smiled. Curse was sick and he was gonna help him. This guy was a mystery, but he had the feeling he needed to help. Maybe it was his kindness or maybe it was the fact that he was attracted to this guy. Jay smiled at Curse.

Curse is looking at the most beautiful man in the world, Jay Krearns. Brother to tribute Mason Kreans. But Curse doesn't care. Curse has Cupid's arrows stuck in his chest. And he wouldn't have it any other way, Jay is perfect even in his flaws. The way he let his nerves show and the way he bites his lips. It'll be hard to kiss bloody lips but maybe it could be fun, Curse muses to himself. He's still clinging onto the slim hope that Jay is attracted to men. The slim and wavering hope that Jay will reciprocate the same feeling that Curse has for him. Intrigue, wonder, excitement. Curse wasn't one who believed in love at first sight, but now that has changed. Curse is so enchanted by the man that he didn't know what else to do but show it. But the fact that only a small number of men are attracted to other men is disconcerting to Curse. He's still scared by the brooding and looming fact that he could be interested in girls. And I started hitting on him to! Curse started to mentally kicking himself for possibly hitting on a straight man. That is until Jay replies with his incredibly cute and nervous stammer and chuckle,“ “er... That's a unique name. I like it..... I hate my smile... but thanks anyways. You errrr are se.... er....I mean you have a nice smile too?” followed by on of Jay's uniquely beautiful smile. Curse smiles back at Jay and starts to mentally dance. He thinks I'm sexy omg he's gay and he like me and omg!!!!! Yeah Curse is starting to freak out a little bit. He's way too excited about the fact that Jay likes him back.

That is when Jay makes the comment about Curse's complexion. “You look a bit pale Curse. Are you ok?” he asks of Curse with a raised eyebrow and a look of concern of his perfect face. Curse completely forgot that he was sick when he first took notice of Jay. He looks at Jay his deep deep pools of liquid ember and maple. Curse gets lost swimming in them, those pots of gorgeousness. He almost forgets that Jay asked his question but he ends up replying with something that sounds extremely dumb.“Huh? Oh yeah I'm fine, it's probably just the cold getting to me.” Curse tries waves his health issues off like they're nothing. I don't want to scare him off with my health so early, Curse tells himself, feeling bad for lying to the sexy angel. But Jay doesn't buy the lie and still checks Curse for a fever. But not by putting his hand to his forehead but by getting up on his tippy toes and kissing his forehead. Causing Curse to blush. Can you just bring those lips just a few inches lower Curse asks of Jay internally. He really wants to kiss the man and his lips felt great. So kissing him would be fun Curse answers his earlier question. They aren't the most voluptuous lips ever, but they are incredibly soft and seem to fit every turn and crease of Curse's forehead.

“Curse, you're awfully warm. I am taking you to my shack, so I can take you temperature fully.” Jay states, well more like commands of Curse but he obliges. Curse has to admit that he does feel warm, but he's enjoying the stark cold contrast the air provides to his body heat. But he goes anyways. Jay sticks his hand out and grabs Curse's in a friendly way, but Curse is taking it farther by intertwining his fingers through Jay's. Hopefully Jay will take it as I intended, more than friends. Curse is still on Cloud 9 about the fact that Jay likes him. So he'll do almost anything to make sure that it goes farther than just playful bantering and flirting. He follows Jay hand in hand; wondering what it'll be like to walk with the man like this as lovers instead of just follow the leader. Curse, still lost in his daydream forgets about the shack until they come up to it. A smaller shack that's big enough to be considered an apartment, but it's really a shop it's white like most shacks that inhabit District 4. Something about the water turns the wood white, he didn't pay much attention in science class. When they walk inside he gets a good glimpse of the place. A typical surf shack with a counter, some products behind an a couple of rooms in the back corners. Letting go of Curse's hand, Jay pulls out a thermometer from behind the counter and takes Curse's temperature. Shaking his head Jay claims, “You've got a temperature. Lets get you to bed.” Curse is too tired to argue so he simply follows Jay and replies with an “OK doctor, whatever you say” He wonders to himself if the fact that he's still blushing is what is contributing to the raised temp. Crawling into bed he cuddles in the blankets and turns onto his side, watching Jay as the man sits onto the bed and smiles at him. “So why we're here,” Curse starts “why don't we get to know each other better?”

Curse was grateful for the man to be taking care of him. His parents truly didn't care if he was sick. As long as Curse was able to fight they are happy. It's nice to have someone look out for him. Curse wondered silently, It's nice to have a man take care of me. Maybe he's my Guardian Angel

Jay sat there watching Curse. He was smiling. He couldn't stop staring at the hot boy in his bed. He was just mouth watering. Jay smiled at him, but his face turned to a frown when he thought of something. What if this hot boy didn't like me. What if he liked someone else. With my luck, he probably has a girlfriend. Jay sighed. Maybe he wasn't good enough for Curse. He always ruined everything. He ruined both of his brothers' lives. He ruined his family's life. He would ruin this boy's life too probably. Jay stared at the boy for awhile. He didn't say a word. He just stared into the eyes that made him go nervous. The body that made his mouth water. The lips that he wanted to kiss so bad. The arms he wanted wrapped around him. Jay bite his lip. That is when he heard Curse speak.

"So while we're here, why don't we get to know each other better?"

Jay sighed. he wanted to know about him now. That was good, that showed he was interested. The bad thing is, Jay didn't want him to hear about his sad and pathetic life. He had lost both of his brothers and his parents. He had been bullied about being gay. He had been forced to train as a career. He had no family. He barely was keeping the surf shack up. He barely had money to buy food. He barely was getting by. He had to tell him truthfully, if he wanted to have this boy. Jay smiled.

He stood up and pulled the blanket up. He climbed into the bed and turned himself so he was looking at Curse. Jay moved a bit closer to the boy. His smile disappeared. He stared at the boy. He was amazing. he probably had a good life unlike Jay. Jay began to speak, his voice a bit nervous.

"Well.... I am gonna keep this... errr.... short? I am gay.... I was made fun of as a kid for it. My oldest brother Davy got attacked by a shark and I didn't get help in time and he passed away. My parents died months later. It was only me and Mason, then Mason got reaped and got killed by the District 1 boy, Peridot Myler. I live here all alone and am barely making it by.... My life is sad..."

Jay closed his eyes. He was not gonna cry. He kept the tears from pouring. He was gonna just lay here and be in this hot guy's presence. He felt the tears coming closer. He pushed himself against Curse and put his head on Curse's shoulder. He silently cried into Curse's shoulder. He wrapped his arms around Curse's body. Curse was warm and comfortable. He made Jay felt secure, stable, and able to make it through life. Jay kept crying softly. He stayed like this for a few minutes, until he stopped crying. He still clung onto Curse, not wanting to let go. Jay spoke again, this time calmly.

"...I...I am sorry... its just I lost my only family member left.... So... er... How about you? How is your life? I want to know you! oh... er.... I think.... I think you're cute and.... hot...."

Jay blushed, but smiled at the same time. He still was cuddled up into Curse. He was warm, hopefully Curse's fever breaks. Jay put his head up from Curse's shoulder. He smiled at the boy, the blush clearly visible. Jay waited for him to reply. Curse was a amazing person already. How much more amazing can he get?

Curse is laying down in Jay's bed at his shop. Feeling hotter than the sun right now because of his fever. Well that and he is still looking at the most beautiful angel in the world. Thanks Ripred for letting him come to Earth Curse prays in his head. He's trying to keep the blood from coming to his face for he's not even sure if Jay likes him. Curse only heard a couple of letters earlier that day that could be an indicator that he likes Curse. But Curse can't and doesn't jump to any conclusions at the moment. He said that he should get to know each other better but Jay still hasn't replied yet. Jay keeps biting his beautiful lips and then he frowns. He follows with a sigh and then stares at Curse for a little while. Curse doesn't mind that for he thinks that Jay's eyes are the most beautiful thing in the world. Then he surprises Curse by climbing into bed with him and scoots closer to Curse. Curse scoots closer into Jay himself and patiently waits for a reply. Jay starts to speak finally, his voice shaky and nervous, "Well.... I am gonna keep this... errr.... short? I am gay.... I was made fun of as a kid for it. My oldest brother Davy got attacked by a shark and I didn't get help in time and he passed away. My parents died months later. As Curse listens on he notice tears start to form in the angels eyes. Curse reaches out and hugs Jay. Bringing the man into his warm embrace. Jay puts his head on Curse's shoulder and cries softly. Curse brings his head into the nape of Jay's neck and hugs Jay even tighter. The tears soaking Curse's bare shoulder; running down to his smooth chest and back. Curse feels a little unsure as he's never been this close to anyone before. Not even his siblings; but something about Jay seems different. Being his way with Jay feels natural and comforting. Something begins to pull on Curse's heartstrings, and it began to scare him a little bit.

Am I falling in love? Curse began to wonder as he held his crying angel in his big muscular arms. Curse is falling in love for Jay and it's only been what a couple of hours? “I guess love at first sight does exist” Curse whispered silently, half hoping that Jay would hear that. Curse smiles and back kisses Jay's forehead like Jay did to him, still hugging the angel. “Well to start at the beginning I was an extremely sick child. So I'm used to being this hot. And my family is one huge fighting machine that barley gets along.” Curse states his a smirk on his face and chuckles a little. “I pretty much know everyone at the hospital by now. Other than that my life has been pretty normal. Training, surfing, hanging around 4.” Curse states blatantly. “My life has been pretty boring. Well that is until I met you. You are perhaps the most beautiful man I've ever seen.” Curse proclaims. “And trust me, I'm beyond excited that you're gay, because I want to be the rock that you continue to cry on if you need to.
