"The monsters in my dreams, well they're unusual. I wouldn't call them freaks because it's just a dragon, a wraith and an old lady. But out of all of them I mostly fear the old lady - I know it sounds ridiculous but if you would see her you'd know what I mean. My gran says that my monsters come from the dreams because of my narcolepsy, which she also says I inherited from her husband, my gran.

I never met him, but gran says he was the most kind and gentle man she has ever known. That was the time she told me how I was conceived. She told me that my father was a rapist. She said that when my mother was coming home she was suddenly assaulted by a man in the middle of the night. She worked as a caretaker of another farm 20 blocks away from the house. She screamed until a PK appeared and arrested the man. That was the night my mother changed. She started skipping meals and talked less. My gran said it broke my grans heart when he saw his little girl slowly fading into madness. One day my mother suggested to my grandparents to abort me, but my gran said no. That even if my father was a bad man doesn't mean I would be same as him, and she told me that he was right. That I grew up to be a fine young man. So my mother kept me and after a while she started to get better. She went back to working and talking and smiling and well being normal.

My gran told me the day that I was born was the happiest day for all of them including my mom. The day after that was different, she said that my gran had a heart attack and died. My mother was heart broken and went back into thinking nothing about me. That's why my mom hates me.

I once tried telling my mom about the monsters. She said I deserved it because of my father sins and went away without saying sorry or anything."

"To be honest, my sickness is something I find very heavy. It's the biggest burden a seventeen year old could face. I'm still in the door way to the kingdom of my life. I'm still trying to enter and I know that I would face moments that would be too emotional for my disease.

You see, whenever I feel a strong surge of emotion my entire body shuts down and I fall asleep. That's why some parts of my body are covered in purple and yellow. It's quite difficult to be happy or be sad and try to weave my fingers to control my self from falling asleep. That's why every moment I feel happy or sad I treasure it."

"Hahahaha.

As I said before, it's my looks doc. She, my mother, said that every time I stare at her, she sees the man that ruined her life. The man that took away her future from her. She said that my long fingers remind her of his hands that trapped her under him. Also the way I smile is also the way he smiled, but his had more malevolence I guess. I hated myself every time she says those about me. I mean I can't be him. He's an asshole. But every time she sees me and start accusing me, that's how I feel, a complete and utter asshole who destroyed a girls life.

Luckily I had my gran for that. She'd keep me in check on who I really am. She would often tell me that I looked more like my grandfather. She said I have the same build as him when he was younger. Also the length of my nose, which she said was the cutest thing about my gran when they were still young, even if he didn't like it. Especially my smile, she says, is the same way my grandfather smiles. She says his smile was full of kindness and love. Just like mine. It almost made me feel bad for selling my body, but we have to do what we have to do if we want to survive."

"Thanks also doc I still have an appointment with the same girl tonight. Wouldn't want to dissappoint her or else there would be no food on the table tonight."

And with that I left the doctors office with a smile on my face. That was the best talk I had in days. A tear full of joy dropped from my eye and splashed on the ground to bless the earth that has kept my gran alive. But then my vision darkened and I feel my body drop to the ground.
