Stryk Thundyyr District 5 FINISHED

[/i] I thought to myself.

"Wh-what is it?" I asked, even though I didn't really want to know. I ran my fingers nervously through my soft hair.

"You are report to the flight department of District Thirteen first thing in the morning. More will be explained to you there. You are going to travel to District Five and live with a host family. You will reside there until you are thirty. Take note of everything. And yes, you will be entered into the reaping." He said. I felt like I was already on morphine, but more was shot into me. Except the morphine was fear. I was scared for my life. The host family didn't soud to bad. I've never had a family. I've been raised by basically everyone in my district. But everything else was just to much for me to handel. I want to say something but I'm not able to. I want to ask 'why me?' but I can't.

By looking at Davis' face you could tell it was hard for him. I always thought he hated me but I guess I was wrong. "You are dismissed" He said immediately, then shoved me out the door. He didn't want me to see his tears.

My first Incident

The cafeteria was full of people at the time. Two of my friends were with me. We sat down at a table and chitchatted for who knows how long. "I have to clean the kitchen tomorrow. It sucks," I complained.

"Why's that?" asked the tallest one, Jesse. He is muscular, but not as much as me. But to be fair I put in a lot more training then him. My other friend, Zerk, is short, but more built then the both of us. He looked at me, and his eyes asked the same question.

"Davis' orders. He's been really hard on me lately." Which was true. Around this time I was fourteen, and Davis said that those were the years that were gonna matter in the future. Our conversation ceased as one other figure, followed by a few friends, trudged toward us. Looking up, I realized who it us, and rolled my eyes. The name that belonged to the face was Gimini Gret.

Gimini Gret was a boy my age, and about my size that always tried to one up me. Naturally I flexed, to show off my muscles. I looked at him and smirked, "What do you want? Oh wait, I don't care." I looked away and continued to eat, ignoring him. He didn't move. I looked back up and noded him in the other direction.

"I sit here. Everyday, Mr. Lost Lytnin', you need to move," he said, obviously trying to get on my nerves. I tensed up at his words. He always called me that. He made fun of my name, and the fact that I was parentless. I hated him.

I forced myself to my feet. "Listen up! I'm not going to take anymore crap from you. I can't stand you, and you get on my last nerve. You're a douche to me because I don't have a mom and dad, well, newsflash for you. We're training to fight for the districts against the capitol. Thousands of the children you're fighting to save are parentless. So I don't care if this is 'you're table' because you're going to eat somewhere else today!" I screamed to the top of my lungs.

No longer caring, I dipped my hand into my potatoes and shoved it in Gimini's face. "There! You can eat right there." I could hear people laughing. Not only my friends, but his friends, and people that were just nearby. Before either of us had the chance to say anymore I hear someone clear their throat. I turn my head to the left to see Davis staring at us. Oh, dear Ripred, save me now, I think. It was the calm before the storm.

The Host Family

I don't even remember entering the district. I tried my best to ignore what was going on. All I know is that I was escorted by a few "Peacekeepers." But I do remember first seeing the house. It was small. The white walls were cracked with the occasional hole. The roof was grey and shingled, but most of them were missing half of it. All of the windows were missing the glass. You've got to be kidding me.

The Peacekeepers took me to the door, knocked, and left. I'm sure they were still watching, just not up close. As soon as the door was opened, I was embraced by a short women with choppy, red hair. She pulled me inside and slammed the door. "Hi, Stryk! I love your name honey-buns. I'm Carol, your new mommy. And this is Daren and Jehovah," she said, pointing at the other two boys. Daren is gruff and doesn't even look at me. Jehovah looks a lot like his mom, just taller.

The women scared me. She also made me mad. She's not my new 'mommy'. I don't have a mom. I've never had a mom, and I never will have a mom. "Boys say hi!" she commanded.

"Hi parent stealer!" Jehovah shot at me. He glared at me and his mom smacked him and whispered something to him that I couldn't make out. He continued glaring at me once she looked away. I look over at Daren, not knowing if he'll lift his bald head up to look at me.

"Hi! For a boy your age, you sure have a lack of hair on your face. Maybe I should call you sissy la la," he snotted. Immediately my mouth droped open and I glared at him. I went to say something but before I could, Carol jumps in and silenced us.

"So, we're all so happy to have you hear. If you have questions just ask us and we'll gladly answer. You'll share a room with Jehovah. Follow me," The boys groaned and I followed her. She showed me the room and told me I'll be sleeping on the floor. None of them have beds. You'd think the District Thirteen would at least find a home that has proper material. Man I hate it here.

First Day In Fifth

I can remember my first impression on district five. Shortly after I moved in, Carol took me on a tour. I walked three steps behind me and looked at the nothing but the people. I didn't care where I was, I cared about these children. I don't think they cared about me, though.

I noticed immediately that I didn't fit in. They all were either black, or tan skinned. I was pale, because in District Thirteen, you don't go outside. Now that I've been here for about a year I'm a lot tanner, though. But none of them recognized me.

I knew everyone was staring at me, but I didn't care. They don't know about District Thirteen, so I didn't have to worry. But, I don't like to be stared at, so I began to feel trapped. I started shaking which only brought more eyes to my attention. I wasn't listening to anything Carol said to me.

It wasn't long until I let out a scream. Carol turned to look at me. I darted off and ran. I slammed into Carol, knocking her to the ground. I didn't stop to help her, I just kept going. I was most definitely lost, but I told myself not to worry about it. All I wanted to do was go home. Oh my Ripred, I hate life.
