where the line is drawn | dyno day one

The line is drawn in front of him.

Every step is a new drying page of ink in his untold story. Dyno Moreno's tale being spun upon the very steps he takes. There's no cannons in the distance, just the eerie quiet of his own steps in sand, ruining the perfect pattern meant to be easy to track. A laugh wants to break from his lips, but he's always been compared to the perfectionism of One. Just like the sand below him, he's been the perfect son, the perfect career, and the perfect legacy. Drawn a line in the sand where Dyno Moreno exists as just another boy in a ocean of boys. No moving past the metaphorical line otherwise they'll all see the flaws. The pieces that don't quite make sense in the whole of the poem. The cut out words and scenes of a tale still being spun. The parts where someone will see him as nothing more than a boy playing killer.

Isn't that what all the careers were doing? Saving face for their own hearts. He's always wanted to be a killer. A story to be told and remembered forever. Someone better than the ones still told about One. Grimacing at the thought, he breaks his own tension with a voice as he hears the twinkling of a package falling. "Oh, I see you've gotten me something. Better be good y'all." The silver parachute lands into his hands as he pulls the box open to find the large canvas bag with a matching canteen. Unfortunately empty of any substance, but still useful for the future. Looking back towards the boulders, he tries to find a camera as he speaks once more. "I appreciate the matching colors. This'll do just nicely. Whoever sponsored this, you made a good choice. I'll make sure to thank you on the other side." A smirk on his lips as he winks to whatever camera might be nearby.

Setting the pack on his shoulder, he glances about wondering where to go next. Glancing about through the sands to see boulders and sand as far as he can see, he moves forward towards north. His eyes focusing ahead as the sound of crackling mist reaches his ears; almost as if the arena itself is alive. It's all he can hear as he steps forward, only to notice the tablets sitting on top of a rock, grabbing them he knows they'll be good for when he finds water. It's the crackling sound of a mist as the bright lilac colored sky shines above for a second, until the fluttering of wings and strange creatures pass by.

Ink spreading through his mind, he stays still for a second before noticing they've fully passed. Except, he's wrong. The twinkling sound of a single blob of something appears behind him. Carefully, he holds his hands up ready to fight whatever the blob is going to do, except it waits with a fluttering. Carefully, he waits for a moment, until his fists drop slightly with his voice coming out. "Huh. What the fuck are you?" The blob twinkles with a sound that is much more friendly as it comes closer to him, but Dyno swings. "Nuh uh. You are a mutt, I don't need you anywhere near me." It twinkles once more, this time he swipes at it with his palm.

The creature flutters away, brushed by the direction of his hand as it twinkles at him a little more joyfully. Annoying, cute, and definitely not quiet. He's going to hate the damn thing. "Let's make this clear. I don't like you. Don't get close or I will break you. Fucking pest." The twinkling comes a bit faster in a way he doesn't understand. Rolling his eyes, he swats at it once more. This time, the creature stays away from his hands. Gently, he turns his back to it before taking a step and then another. The creature continues to follow him. Carefully, he sighs as he leans down to the ground, drawing a perfect line in the sand. His voice is filled with an annoyance he's used to.

"You stay behind that line. I'm leaving. Stay!"

As he walks away, the clear sound of twinkling follows him.

It's going to be a long fucking day.
