bottomless brunch ( marik x nessa : buffet brunch )

They had given you a list of questions as you took your seat. On a large table to your right was a huge spread of food that made your mouth water. The food back home had nothing on the cuisine they had served you since the moment you had stepped onto the train. It made you wonder why Flynn spent so much time at his friend Dale's family burger joint. The burgers were top quality, but they were nothing compared to the Angus beef burger you had eaten for dinner last night. You made a silent oath that if you somehow managed to win these games, you would find some way to bring their food back home. After all, you would deserve it after committing the crimes you were no doubt going to be forced to commit.

Suddenly, the seat in front of you is filled, and you look up to see the boy with snow-white hair take a seat before you. What was his name again? Maverick? No, that wasn't it. Looking across the table, you attempt to peek at the name card in front of him, but you can't quite see the name.

"Hi, Nessa Garner," you say instead. Were you supposed to shake his hand now? You decide not to, keeping your hands clasped under the table in your lap. You look down at the list of questions, picking out the first one your eyes land on: "If you could bring anyone from home into the Games with you, who would it be and why?"

You cringe internally. What a stupid question. It sounded as though you were about to have a leisurely time at a themed dinner.
