He slipped out of the ring defeated. Not really by his opponent; Jimmy couldn't scare the fur off a bunny rabbit, much less a Hope. But there was something soggy about his brain and runny about his thoughts and now his heart, too, felt as though it might melt right between his ribs.

He took one look at the benches of waiting and victorious tributes and turned away. He didn't intend to wander far; he doubted they'd let him. Forehead creased, he found himself staring at a row of lockers.

"Damnit," he muttered as he chewed on the edge of his thumb. His stomach rumbled.

And he very nearly jumped out of his skin when a familiar face ghosted up next to him.

"Whaddya think?" He asked, releasing the bitehold on his thumb and pressing it to the locker pad. "I think... I think I'm not gonna survive by throwing my fists around."
