After patching himself up in the medical wing Machiavelli had strayed much further than he'd intended. But one door led to the next and to the next and after spending so much time in the vents he couldn't help but embrace the feeling of striding forward, long leg after long leg. Yes, it was a risk to be wandering in the arena -- the Training Center itself -- but he was starting to believe what he'd felt during the dummy attack: that he was worthy of fear.
Knife in hand he stalked and strode, listening to his gut. It guided him back to the beginning. The Training Room looked at once familiar and transformed. Where once there had been shadows there were now red spotlights and garbled instructions. Another tribute had just finished the sequence and been admitted to the stairs.
Machiavelli approached with his sponsored keycard already on display. Did the security system sound a touch more annoyed than intimidating? He almost, almost grinned but the pistols with their empty eyes kept his worse instincts in check.
The stairs brought him into a cache the likes of which he'd not yet seen in the arena. Pretty prizes on display and the pistols at his back, watching. Waiting.
He did not deliberate long. With his prize in one hand, he waved his knife at the empty eyes and finally offered his signature grin. "Thanks for the swag, Bourgeois!"
