My heart is galloping, thoughts racing, and all I can do is stand there wondering what just happened. I heard the cannon earlier, I see the blood dripping from my blade. All I can see is red. This isn't who I am, and I promised him popcorn if I found it, and I took his life. I killed someone, and I never imagined I would do anything like that. My gaze darts back and forth as I grab some items and take off running. I want to scream. My ears are ringing loudly, and my heartbeat echoes in my head, and everything is growing louder, and I don't know what to do. Screaming seems logical, but I know if I was to scream, I'd notify every one of my location. It's not enough, it'll never be enough, yet I don't even know what I can possibly do.
It had to be done. It had to be done, but I didn't want this to happen. I never thought I'd kill someone, and I hate that this has happened. I hate that everything is falling apart before my eyes, and nothing makes sense anymore. I slam my glaive against the floor, and I slam it again and again and again, but it doesn't take away the emotion coursing through my veins. And I turn towards some shelves, and I want to break them, to topple them over. The gamemakers have done this, the Capitol has turned me into something I never wanted to be, but I know I have no choice. I did what I had to do, and I will keep doing what I have to do until I either make it home alive or I die.
