I count three cannons. I know the origins of two of them, and wonder if the third might have ended up being Marik in the end. I wouldn’t put it past Roe to kick a man who’s already half-dead. But I hadn’t stuck around for the show. I notice a pattern forming – of perpetually running away from reality.

In the cafeteria where I’ve disappeared to, I am of some kind of use, at least. I’d left Nessa to finish helping to stitch Tigs up, and had jumped at the opportunity to leave the room when she’d mentioned needing food in her belly to keep the nausea at bay.

The room is cold as I enter. The tribute numbers dwindle down, and there’s less bodies in the Arena to share warmth. I shiver against the draft and hug my arms against myself, even though I know the motion is futile.

i always used to be into writing sort of modern abstract
lyricism stuff (that were like) slight vague indications of a feeling.

I leave Antigone on the bed, her wound stitched and dressed to the best of my ability. It would scar no doubt, but at least it was closed and the bleeding had stopped. The events of the day weighed heavily on my shoulders, and a harsh pounding in my head had began, causing me to rub my temples as I disappeared to find Arcadia. Antigone had sent her to get some food, and to be honest to get away from the blood and gore that covered the sheets of Antigones bed. I had had enough, and I was all to aware of the blood that stained my fingers.

In the dining hall, I find Arcadia by the vending machine. I sigh heavily as I move to stand beside her, running my blood stained fingers through my hair roughly. Arcadia looked tired, and the downward turn of her lips was an unusual sigh. “are you okay?” I ask quietly, pushing at the buttons of the vending machine.
