He never found a way to win marcus over. He tried to put as much distance as he could between himself and his brother, but the problem with that, was that marcus was a victor. He had unlimited resources at his disposal, or at least it seemed like it. He found you eventually, and he cornered you until you admitted that what you did to him was truly heinous.

He told you he would never forgive, and you wouldnt forget that either. One had been where he had found you, and you had already started to make a life for yourself. The rage growing inside you intensified. You took up hobbies with the money that you had inherited from your grandparents. It had been just enough to keep you busy. Busy was good for your rage, and your hands bled somedays.

But your passion is how you met your wife. And had one child with her. He was the spitting image of you. Full of despair and disdain. The emberstatt name was something that you wanted to fix. Right a wrong made by your brother. He was no hero. He was nothing more than a fraud.

And you raised your child to think the exact same way.

Even till your deathbed.

Marco had never made up with marcus, and in fact, made sure that his own child felt the same amount of scorn towards him. Even after marco had passed, marcus was still not welcomed into the boys life. His son had met a girl, her last name mahdavi, and she fed into his cynicism and hatred for everything that should have been his. They got married eventually, and thats how the davistatt had come to fruition.

They had four children, all of them just as bitter and vile as the next. All of them understood clearly that something was not handed to them. They had to work to prove that they are better than anyone with just the emberstatt or mahdavi name. A family obsessed with fame and power, they believed they should have complete control over their childrens lives.

Lets meet them:

HOUSE OF WAR

Ares Davistatt (43) is an expert in hand to hand combat specifically. He trained for the games for years, his weapon mastery had included many weapons, but he always preferred to use his hands. When he aged out for the games, after being volunteered over by someone else which he is still very salty about, he had been placed in an academy as a trainer right up until he felt his skills were being overshadowed by bureaucratic bullshit. He met his wife in the career academy that he hated, and together, they had three very different children. Each one had been more vicious than the next. His father had enrolled them in the training academy that his father had ended up opening with all the dirty money that their mother had funded from the mahdavi “family business”. While his children do enjoy intense sessions in the academy, his father gives them one on one time with him as well. Whether they enjoy it or not.

A fever dream of tenacity and full of raw talent. they might be the first child, but they are not going to let their siblings outshine them. They have a radioactive personality and isnt afraid to make sure that put themselves first before anyone else.

They are the schmoozer. A little lazy (or a lot if you ask their older sibling). They do not enjoy the one on one sessions with their father, but they do it because it keeps him off their back. In the academy, they are able to convince people to follow them. They believe that if this is war, why do it by themselves? Its always better when someone else can do the work for them and then they take the credit. Or survive. Whichever one comes first.

Hampton Davistatt (16) [Scorpio Sun] [Played by Ryan]
The baby, but not someone that wants to be pushed over. He is cunning on the battlefield. Willing to throw anyone under the bus in order to come out ahead. If you are running beside him and keeping up, expected to be met with a foot tripping you. He is willing to do whatever it takes to come out on top. His oldest sibling thinks that he will never make it in the games, but that only motivates him to work even harder. His rage is what motivates him after all.


HOUSE OF DEATH

Achlys Davistatt (41) was the scholar of the four kids. Her obsession with books was quite clear to her father, but she still had to learn to fight like the rest of the kids. Shes quiet, but seen as the deadliest of the four. Her siblings hated fighting her because she memorised each pressure point in the body and would use that to her advantage when sparring with others. Whether it was her popping out someones shoulder or pinching a muscle so their arm became numb, she would use little tricks to gain the upperhand. She vowed that any children she had would value learning about the anatomy of a person. The chemistry that made up the body. All of it was fair game. While combat training was important, their academic studies were just as important. After long sessions at the academy, her children were subjected to long and gruelling days studying anything that Achlys felt appropriate.

They are driven to be right at all times. They are a know it all and they are okay with that. They are not afraid to correct someone, even if it means they end up getting into a physical altercation with them after. They took a shine to the body, knowing every bone by name. And how to break each one of them.

—- Davistatt (16) [Cancer Sun]
Emotional manipulator. Not afraid to psychoanalyse someone in the middle of a bout. Will pick apart everything and anything just to try to find out what makes someone tick. Then theyll keep bringing it up until it catches their opponent off guard. Their mom hates when they do this to them especially, but that is why they let them continue to do so while they study. Breaking the psyche is just as important as breaking someone’s bones.

This young one knows many ways to kill someone using various poisons and plants. They had always been a bit of a tree hugger, but when their mother noticed this, they let the behaviour continue. They hadnt thought about someone using science to kill someone, but she welcomed it. Sure, their hand to hand wasnt as good as their siblings, but give them a weapon and a chemistry set, they would concoct something that only the most nefarious could.

HOUSE OF CONQUEST

Alexandra Davistatt (40) would rather spend her time playing an instrument then fighting with any of her siblings. However, marco did not give her a choice. She had been much more interested in her mothers “family business”. The deal was, she trains like a career, and if she doesnt get reaped, then she can get involved in said “family business”. She agreed, but she didnt stay in it too long. Mostly because it bored her. She wanted to reach the masses in a different, more public way. So while her siblings had worked on training their children, she taught her children how to always stay in the limelight. She cared about appearances and ways to always stay relevant. Sure, it was cool if her children could fight, but she always put more importance on making stars. It helped that her husband owned his own recording studio, which is weird to think because one wasnt much of an entertainment district. Alexandra didnt care that much though. She always embraced the new.

Corrine Davistatt (17) [ Sagittarius Sun ] [Played by Minie]
A narcissistic singer/guitarist that holds herself to be of the highest standards but struggles to form any real relationships. So focused and driven by her music that she often lets her addiction to the limelight get the best of her. She isn’t interested in fighting or being a career but is forced into it by her Uncle.

They can do no wrong by their mother, for everything wrong with their bloodline was given to their older sister. Panem’s little sweetheart, a true child celebrity that captures the heart of viewers all around (think Shirley Temple (gender neutral) as inspiration) at least that is what the public sees. Resentment still runs strong in the family.

HOUSE OF FAMINE

Asuom Davistatt (38) was the one that inherited the career academy. His wife is unable to bear children, but that did not mean that he was going to kick her to the curb. In fact, he found running the career academy was more than enough work. Adding children on top of that would have probably been too much. His wife had been walking through the district, realising that there were many children that did not have a purpose. These children had sparked her interest, and with a little convincing and construction, these children were adopted into the family and live in the housing built on the academy grounds. Asuom and his wife now work with these kids like they were their own. They now have a chance to influence teenagers like Asuom’s siblings but also bring his fathers vision to life. They can work towards bringing the davistatt name into the spotlight. Where it should stay.

tl;dr
- marcus emberstatts brother marco is pretty much a thorn in his side, and marco feels the same way about marcus.
- he dedicated his whole life to proving that marcus's win was just a fluke.
- didnt really work out for him all that well, but he still managed to be petty, and honestly, thats pretty on brand.
- so he opened his own career academy, and eventually, he let one of his children take it over right before he passed away.
- his kid raised his kids the same way that he was raised. fists first, ask questions later, but then once he realized how nuanced each one of them were, he realized that a dynasty made with longevity in mind was better then just trying to exact some petty revenge.
- they have honed their own talents, and then passed them along to their kids. in the case of house famine, they have taken a special interest in children that they felt were roaming around the district in the streets. they wanted to give them a chance to have somewhere to call home, but on their terms.
- they find anyone that only has an emberstatt last name, or a mahdavi last name to be utterly insufferable. they are not fans of emerson or xaahira, in fact, the parents felt it was only right that they did not make it out of the games, just to give context. they are definitely firm believers that they are the elite, and that because of their hyphenated name, they are just better.

- application plot, but pretty relaxed one tbh.
- myself and minie are running point on this plot due to experience with the families, also this plot is no way directly related to marcus or mace or even luja. marcus will be getting his own plot.
- all the children are careers first and everything else second. they train for 6 hours a day and then spend 3-4 hours in private lessons unless you are with the famine house, then its 3-4 hours of additional training.
- as always, as time passes, there is a chance things can be added or changed!
