Scene that has no name so far

Yeah. I have to write a scene for drama and I really had no idea where exactly to start... but I came up with this. I hope it's not too confusing. The annoying thing for me is that I don't do dialogue. I love description and plays don't really leave me a lot of space for description. I'm not very happy. Here goes:


Name of scene or play goes here. (OOC: I'm generally bad with thinking up titles)

(Scene opens with a single, stark, sharp cornered room. It is scarcely furnished, the entire middle of the room taken up by a single table and two straight-backed chairs that are pushed against the table at opposite ends. There are no windows and the only source of light comes from a fluorescent light fixture. Next to the only door, stands a tall guard, looking straight ahead, arms at his sides, practically unblinking. Suddenly, the door is pushed open and another guard forcefully pushes a woman into the room.)

-Enter Guard 2 and Juniper-

Guard 2: You sit here!
Juniper: If you would quit manhandling me, you would find that I'll have very little trouble in finding my seat.
Guard 2: Silence!
(Juniper smiles as she is pushed into a chair. The door opens once more and a woman who clearly is not a guard, walks into the room and sits in the opposite chair.)

-Enter Ria-

Ria: Good evening, I assume that you had a good nights rest?
Juniper: Very.
Ria: Good, good. Now... you know why you are here. You know what you have done. Why don't you do us all a favour and admit to the charges. Personally, I can think of a whole lot of stuff I would much rather be doing.
Juniper: Good for you.
Ria: Stop playing games with me. I've been nice to you, Juniper. This can change, if you don't start abiding to my rules.
Juniper: I'm playing by your rules, am I not? You told me to speak the truth and I did nothing but. You've got the wrong person.
Ria: Liar.
Juniper: I've got nothing to say to you.
Ria: I will not repeat myself again, I have no time and patience to babysit you any longer: do you or do you not admit to plotting against the government?
(Juniper remains silent and Ria hits the table with one hand)
Did you form an illegal group, a secret society set on conspiring against the government?
(Again, Juniper stays quiet.)
Very well.
(Ria stands up, throwing the chair against the table and startling Juniper. She then leaves back through the door.)

-Exit Ria-

Juniper: She's such a delight to have around, isn't she?
Guard 1: Silence!
Juniper: You boys are awfully talkative.
Guard 1: I said, silence!
(The door swings open once more. This time a man walks in.)

-Enter Drew-

Juniper: You!
(Juniper lunges for Drew but is pulled back by both of the guards and is forced back onto the chair. The man walks calmly over to the other chair.)
Drew: Nice to see you again, Juniper. Ria told me that you were being a little difficult.
Juniper: How could you?
Drew: How could I what, Juniper? Kill him? It was easy.
Juniper: You... killed him. But why? He did nothing to you! I trusted you!
Drew: You did and that was key to my mission.
Juniper: Your mission?
Drew: You were so trusting, straight from the beginning. When we met in Sephatoria, remember?
Juniper: I don't understand...
Drew: I wouldn't expect for you to understand. But he understood. Juniper, he knew. That is why he had to be removed.
Juniper: What do you mean?
Drew: Your brother was faster than you were. Always suspicious. Never trusting.
Juniper: But that explains nothing! You betrayed us!
Drew: Oh, no, I never did. That's the whole genius of my plan, Juniper. I never betrayed you.
Juniper: Stop lying! It's beneath you.
Drew: Funny. I always knew that you were slow... but I wouldn't have fathomed that you are this slow.

Juniper: Stop speaking in riddles, Drew.
Drew: I never betrayed you because I was never on your side. The North doesn't exist, Juniper.
Juniper: (Juniper shakes her head frantically) That can't be! It says so everywhere. The North can't not exist.
Drew: Oh, can't it? Have you ever seen a picture of any place, any city in the North?
Juniper: (Unsure) I have! I... in books.
Drew: They were painted, yes? Have you ever seen an actual photograph? Have you?
Juniper: No.
Drew: Right. I thought so.
Juniper: That doesn't make sense. How can an entire country not exist?
Drew: (Exasperated) Because it was made up by the Government. You have heard of folk tale of course. Stories passed from person to person? Tell me, who was the first person who told you about the North?
Juniper: My father. But he's...
Drew: Dead. I know.
Juniper: How can it not exist? I saw the border!
Drew: What you saw was a border, yes. Did you see an entire country?
Juniper: No.
Drew: (Smiling) Now we are finally getting somewhere.
Juniper: I still don't understand. Why did you pretend to be from the North? Why would you agree to our cause?
Drew: Because the elusive North appeals to Secret Societies, doesn't it? Forbidden places? Unclaimed territory? You rebel against anything the Government forbids and what is it that is ultimately forbidden?
Juniper: Crossing the border into the North.
Drew: (Claps hands together once) Exactly.
Juniper: But what did Jinx have to do with all of this?
Drew: Your brother knew. He realised, he researched and he noticed something soon enough. He was about to go public with what he discovered... but I couldn't let that happen. It would have ruined everything.
Juniper: So you murdered him.
Drew: I wouldn't put it quite like that. I disposed of him for his own good.
Juniper: Why, you!
(Juniper lunges at Drew once more and is pushed back into the chairs by the guards. Drew smiles all the while.)
Drew: I am quite brilliant, aren't I? I expected to gain your trust. I hadn't reckoned with your affection as well.
Juniper: I trusted you and you abused that.
Drew: And you commited a felony. Treason. The highest of possible crimes.
Juniper: But why. I still don't understand why someone would make up an entire country? What is the point?
Drew: The point is that human beings are foolhardy cowards. Only those of rebellious nature would break the law and try to cross the border. In this way, we can destroy the rotten apples before they infect the rest. It's fantastic, really.
Juniper: And why did you not stop us in the beginning? You could have had myself and my brother tried for treason years ago! Why wait this long?
Drew: Because you were the first to found an underground group of rebels. You did all of the dirty work for us, Juniper. You collected the apples and we thank you for it.
Juniper: (Looks away) You disgust me.
Drew: (Cheerily) I wouldn't expect any less from you.

(There is a drawn out moment in which Juniper looks at the door as if wanting to flee. Then she turns back to Drew.)

Juniper: My father's death was planned, wasn't it?
Drew: Good. You are learning. Like your brother, your father knew too much, too soon.
Juniper: You made it look like suicide.
Drew: As not to cause any suspicion.
Juniper: I was twelve! I blamed myself for it, for years afterwards!
Drew: You did. So did your brother.
Juniper: So what do I agree to? You know everything already. You know what I did. I'm guilty! Why keep me here any longer?
Drew: I was just getting to that. You're strong and influencial. We need people like you in the Government.
Juniper: I'd rather die.
Drew: Now I'm disappointed. I was going to get around to that, but you just ruined it. You have two choices.
Juniper: Oh?
Drew: Either you join us, or you hang, just like the rest of your gang did.
