Well, I don't know how practical this is, but I thought I might throw it out there.

The other day I was looking for an old thread with one of my characters. It had long been taken to the Post Museum. However, when I got to the board, I had to dig through every old thread from every district and area to find it.

So I was wondering if it might be possible to, in the future, have separate archives for each district/area?

Again, I don't know how much work that would entail, and I don't want to cause the staff any more stress than you're all probably already under, but it would make finding old threads a lot easier.

I'm a big fan of organization. In fact, I love the idea so much that I eventually categorize everything so that they each have their own folder. While it makes sense to have the sub-boards, I don't know how we can do it without making board-clutter. Of course, if the idea is carried through by a staff member with more power than me (which is pretty much the rest of the staff), I'm cool with it.

Thank you for bringing this up- it's been at the back of my mind for some time, but I keep forgetting about it. =P

Organization is always great, especially on a site this huge. I would gladly create the boards now, except for one worry: the logistical nightmare of moving all those threads that are already in there. In the long run I think it would be beneficial, though, because finding old threads is a nightmare and a half right now. Board clutter won't be too much of a problem, I think, because if we do this there won't be any threads beneath the subboards to worry about- the Post Museum board will basically act as a condensed subcategory.

I just have a small question: How would we know which district each thread belongs to? In the future, I understand how it works but to separate the old ones into their respective districts would be...painful. >.>

And by board clutter, I meant that there are too many subboards. But I guess it could be pulled off now that I think about it...

What if there were a board for each District and then a "Really Really Old Stuff In Rando Districts" board for the current threads? I know it's not exactly idea, but would save the nightmare of tracking down the district of every thread in there right now. Plus, the longer it's put off, the harder it will be to decide...

...I feel like it would make the organization seem lazy. I mean, the point of this is so people can look back on past threads and past threads include 2008, 2009, and 2010. I cringe at the thought of having to hunt them down but for organization's sake, I will tear my hair out every night to get them in the proper place. I was just wondering if there's a simpler way to find out.

Oh, and there will of course be a DS board too, right? I think some of the posts there are from the DS.
