The woods lay before him on this eerily silent night. the cool wind chilled his skin giving him goosebumps and yet only one thought corssed his mind. He pondered whether or not to cross it. He knew about what happened in these woods. People enter and sometimes never return. Rumour had it that people are murdered in them. Sadly, this was his goal. Algernon, the love of his life, was dead as he was told. His parents didn't seem to care about him anymore and niether did anyone else. Then there's those horrible Games. If he didn't die in the forest tonight he would sure as hell die in the games. Eaten alive by a mutt didn't sound very pleasent. Steadily he crawled under a hole in the fence.

Shunado looked around him, making sure no peacekeepers saw him, then darted into the woods. From home he brought a hammer from his father's shed and a knife from the kitchen. Even if he did lose the fight he still wanted to fight. He wanted that one last thrill. Shunado was ready. As he walked through the woods, keeping and eye out for any sign of danger, he heard a twig snap from behind him. This is it, he thought to himself. This was the day he died.[/glow]

Caoimhin sighed as he fell beyond the fence of District Four. It was midnight, a perfect time to fish at the stream he’d been to several hundred time before. It was 10 miles away from the fence, so he could conceivably go there and back before his parents would suspect he was missing. He twirled his trident before him as he walked through the forest. The soft breeze that came off of it threw his dark brown hair into his eyes. He blew up into his eyes, hoping that his hair would obey his subtle command.

It didn’t, he cursed at the wind as he stopped to fix his long hair. The moon light shone onto his hand. It was covered in grease, scales, and sand from his earlier fishing on the boats that surrounded District Four. He didn’t mind his body being dirty as much as his hair bothered him. His T-shirt and Jeans were torn after probably seven days without changing them. He was rough around the edges, but who wasn’t? After he was finished with his hair, he continued on his walk to the stream.

No, this was not the time. He didn't want to make it to obvious he was trying to die. He arrived at the stream soon after, and it was empty. He walked into the stream fully clothed. He watched the water as he looked for prey. Splash! His trident connected with a fish at the bottom of the water. He smiled as he inspected it closer.

As he watched it, a blow was delivered to his knee. Without thinking, he struck out at his attacker. It missed the figure, and he could now see it was a boy near his age. His black hair blended with the darkness of night.

Shunado thought back on previous Hunger Games and tried to remember techniques used with hammers. Once again, he swung.[/glow][dice=200+7000]

His foot was broken. He could tell the second the hammer struck against him again. Time to nut up or shut up. This boy was out for blood. So was he. He smiled as he threw his trident again. The boy secretly hoped for it to pierce his brain or heart.

He smiled as the spear pierced the boys stomach. That was surely going to do internal damage.

The hammer struck his chest, and he felt the bone shatter. He assumed it was his sternum. He’d damaged in a struggle before. That was the night he killed his boyfriend. As he smiled in the moonlight, he remembered his need for blood then. He felt it revive in his stomach. He wanted to kill. He had to kill someone. This boy was perfect.

“Run now, boy.” He whispered as his teeth shone in the moonlight “This won’t end well for you.”

He threw his trident again, but it was a block.
