The boy was never one to wander far from his cell in the depths of District 13. Logan wasn't very adventurous at all, unless the bottle was at his lips or the morphling was racing through his veins. He just stuck to the room he was assigned, often honing his 'power'. Truthfully, the boy was just a few steps away from insanity. The thoughts that often filled his mind weren't his, according to his logic. Obviously, the young man didn't possess the ability to venture forth into the minds of those around him. That was something that the Capitol would believe in, only because they wanted to somehow further their already 'perfect' society. Magic or something of the sort would do that.

Still, it entertained Logan during his sober hours. "Logan is looking good today. I should go ask him out." From the girl in room 184 on the seventh floor. She was in his history class just recently. The one he stopped going to. "I'd say no." Those were the only words he said before he continued forward, ignoring the look of confusion from the girl. "Did I say something?" The girl muttered. Those weren't her thoughts either. The 'gift' that belonged to this boy was only going to get him in trouble one day, and he knew it.

As he approached a darker end of the underground tunnels, a loud thought attacked his mind. "I wonder if this spear would kill this boy?" The boy saw it as a thought from the girl who was charging at him with a golden spear. However, it was instinct and impulse that guided him to the left, his left hand grabbing a few knives that were attached to the wall as some sort of trophy or something. The spear slashed across his right arm, causing a shallow cut. But the small cut was enough to push him out of his normal insanity, sending him into an oblivion of adrenaline that only welcomed him when the alcohol or illegal substances coursed through his veins.

The knife slashed across the girl's back, digging deep. Maybe that would slow her down enough so Logan could attack her mind with his thoughts. Or maybe she'd knock some sense into him with the spear in her hands.

Her spear comes close again, this time flying through the air. Logan tried to jump out of the way again, this time dipping to the right. But it scratched against the same place as the spear had scratched last time, this time on the opposite side. He pulled another knife from the pack which he took from the wall, placing it comfortably in his hands. Then he tried to get a good look at the girl, but all he saw was the blood from her wounds and glass. He had no idea why the girl attacked him in the first place and no idea why she continued the fight. He also began to think she was insane as the glass clattered to the floor. But sitting around would be of no use to him, and he knew that.

It dug itself into her arm. Logan smiled. He rather liked the pain and the thoughts that she was letting out. If only he learned that she wasn't thinking what he thought. Maybe he could spare a life.
