Xavier Alecks was used to fighting. The blood lust deep inside of him was conquering. It took control of his being, creating another personality. Creating another Xavier. So, it was typical for him to wander to the battlefield, after finishing work on the ship. With him, he had a trident, because no fisherman leaves home without it, a bow and some arrows, because that helps with catching fish, and three long knives, which are used often by fishers similar to Xavier himself.

He saw his target. Practiced the normal, easy routine. Lock eyes on target. Raise knife. Attack!

I yelp in pain as a sudden arrow creates a deep gash in my cheek. What is with me and attracting fights this week? Honestly, I just wanted to do a tour of the battlefield. Is that too much to ask?!

Nothing had been going my way today, so without any of the usual reservations I grab a trident whose prongs are still twisted in the ribs of a skeleton, heft the heavy device, and charge.

The prongs graze the skin and leave a red opening, but no real damage was done. Pulling the weapon back protectively in front of me, the gash in my face reminds me that I have to fight for my life.

Again. I'm taking a vacation after this, Chaos.

Really, I never have to worry about being killed during a fight. My experience is something I put to use. I've killed so many times that it seems to always make me better. I forget the pain too, because I know it will go away eventually. So will the people. Their spirits will stop bothering my conscious. They go away eventually. Them, and their life.

I scream and drop the knife as the thumb falls off my hand with a nasty slicing noise. Tears pour down my face and I double over, clutching my ruined hand to myself. How dare he! I'm Julian Fucking Rockshaw, and won't be shown up by some muscular pretty boy. I'M the pretty boy here, bitches.

Seeing a discarded axe and gripping it awkwardly in my nine-fingered grip, I thrash at the shit that dares mess with me.

This isn't the only time I've "had my ear cut off". I know the pain, and it is still easy for me to ignore it. This boy needs to die. It's just my first instinct. I need to kill anybody who makes me actually feel pain. It's survival instinct that everybody has. Eliminate danger. My mind makes me want to kill it. Oh well, I like doing it. I drop my weapons to the ground, picking up a rusty sword nearby.
