I'm not a fighter. I don't like to fight, and I'm not good at it. There's no muscle on my body that would really be helpful to the act. Still, if provoked I'll do my best. It's night and I've decided that in a rare streak of rebellion, I'll do something I'm not supposed to.

An arrow grazes my bicep and I yell in pain, coming up to cover the bleeding wound. Where the hell did that come from?

"What was that for?" My voice echoes against the buildings, but I get no answer. The streets are empty and I'm trapped, but this is the worst part of town. Scared now, I spy a crowbar and don't hesitate to pick it up, clumsily throwing it out at my opponent.

I screech in pain and tears spring to my eyes as another arrow sinks deep into my calf. Why am I being attacked? I didn't do anything! Maybe it's a gang member who's had a bad day of something. I hobble over to an alleyway to hide from the evil arrows and search for a weapon. My eyes alight on a long metal pole with a jagged end and I grasp it with trembling hands, not believing what I'm about to do.

With a terrified cry I leap out the best I can from my hiding spot, thrusting my new weapon in front of me with all the power I can pull from my tiny body. The wicked point seeks for purchase in the fleshy body, and I twist at the last second like I've seen tributes do in the games.

Damn it! The point goes sailing past and I withdraw the pole, clutching it to my body like a shield.

Another arrow and this time it flies towards my chest. Clumsily I lash out with the silver pole and the momentum is deflected so that it just grazes my skin. It doesn't hurt nearly as much as the shaft in my thigh and I whimper, leaning against one leg. In my flailing the point once again comes down towards the boy, whistling through the air.

Yes! Finally, a decent hit. On instinct I shove the pointed edge forwards and I jerk as it embeds itself into his stomach with a sickening squelch. I go slightly green, but feel no remorse for the boy who's trying to kill me.

Yet.

His sudden screaming scares me and I jump back as if burned, narrowly avoiding the pronged weapon that aches for my flesh. Falling backwards on my rear end I let the air whistle out of me with a whoosh, and my prone position prompts an instinctual reaction to being so vulnerable. Slash.

Slight resistance as the cutting end slices cleanly through the meaty flesh on his thigh. After the damage has been done I scramble backwards, heel digging into the pavement and pushing myself away since the arrow makes any movement with my other leg burn like fire.

No! I see the trident coming a second before he brings it down and I roll out the way so one prong slices through my skin, hurting my already injured leg and making me howl. Through my tears I can't even register anything, so I blindly thrust the metal spear in his general direction.
