Hello all.

As this site grows, it is becoming harder for just the six of us to manage all this madness. And I know that THG is quickly growing more and more popular, so we can predict more site growth in the future.

Which brings us to the point: we need some more help.

Now this is not going to be just a normal staff search. Right now we are NOT looking for moderators, Global mods, and the like. We're set with those for right now. We are looking for different kinds of staff members that will specialize in the following areas:

Member relations-

Duties:
-Help new, confused members and answer any and all general site-related questions.
-Attempt to get in touch with inactive members that are necessary for the games and such.
-Make people feel welcome.
Qualities:
-Good disposition, always, towards everyone.
-Active. The more so the better.
-High tolerance for noobs.
-Patience. Lots of patience.
-a certain amount of intelligence and the ability to navigate the site well enough to help others with whatever they need to know
-Chatty is a good thing. They have to be super friendly.

Librarian-

Duties:
-Cataloging (i.e. making lists, keeping records, etc.)
-Updating character directory. (The rest of the staff will help with that occasionally, but it will mainly be work for the librarian)
-The soon to be released tessera system. This will be explained first to whoever we choose for the job, and then to the rest of the site. It's sort of complicated, but nothing a fairly intelligent person can't handle.
Qualities:
-Organized. This is a must. We want to be able to count on a librarian to keep everything in order.
-Good with lists.
-Consistency, because the librarian will have to update the Character Directory on a regular basis.
-Activity, because again, updating character directory must be done regularly.
I'd also like if the person knew very basic JavaScript and had some minimal HTML skill, that way there's less explaining for me to do later. If not, it's not a big deal, though. -Aya

If some of that is confusing to some of you, don't worry. We'll explain everything in depth to whoever we pick for the jobs, and we promise we won't leave you in the dark. So don't be scared to apply, even if you don't think you understand everything yet. We encourage everyone to give it a shot, even if you think you might not have some of the qualities we listed for the jobs.

Roleplay Sample:

Well how the hell do I get out of here. I'm stuck in the middle of the slums of District 10...not the best of places for a foreigner to be, ever since time began outsiders had been targeted by natives, and with my pale skin and above average height I can be nothing other than an outsider

Gang symbols cover the walls, I kept my hand on the knife I customarily kept with me, years as a soldier of fortune had taught me the importance of being prepared...

This place looks incredibly poor, the people look like caged animals, wary of others, glancing around, they look like everything like it is a predator...although more than a few look at me like I am prey when they spot my. "Barbaric" I mutter to myself. This kind of thing would never happen in other nations, even New Prussia is better than this place, and it was still recovering from a civil war...

I feel something knock into me, I whirl about, ready to pull out the knife in my pocket...but the mumbled "Eh, sorry" tells me that I'm not being mugged. I look down at the angry looking young girl who bumped into me.

I speak in my sing-song accent that confirms that I'm no native of Panem if my appearence didn't tell her "Who are you?", she doesn't look like she belongs in this place, she doesn't look tough enough, her appearance make me think that, if she lived in these slums, she'd have been chewed up and spat out long ago, she looks too easy a mark for the thinly disguised criminals that I've seen.

Roleplay Sample:(From one of the Uprising's gang meetings)

Today was the day of the second meeting.Hopefully,this one wouldn't be as angering as the first,but that depended entirely on if Haven and Adelaide wanted to keep judging him.

He was still in his bad mood,though.Looking around the group,he saw the 4 new members,only one of which he had directly spoken to before.He still wasn't sure if she had seen him punch the wall out of anger,but he doubted that she would go tattling on him.

Did it really matter,though?Everyone here had to be angry at something.He of course,was angry at just about everything,but he wasn't about to go telling people that.

He looked around the new members,curiously,as he tried to remember if he had seen them.Seph was the one he had spoken to before.She was the bomb specialist,if he remembered correctly.The others he hadn't seen yet,but he was sure they were useful for something,or they wouldn't be here.

This was going to be one amusing rebellion,though,that was for sure.Not that he was in it for the amusement,but still,if he got to get rid of a few Capitol people for what they had done,he was in.

Like the last time,Haven stood up and spoke."Welcome to all of you."He saw her nod to the new members."First of all,is there anything any of you would like to discuss?"

He heard one of the new arrivals speak up."Well,"the new guy cleared his throat and then continued.While this happened,Caden frowned at the fact that he hadn't been given the chance to find out his name.The unknown guy then continued,stopping Caden's thoughts short."We need more medical supplies, and I need them soon if you have any plans that might involve injuries, there's only so much I can do with bandages and clean water. I need vaccines, painkillers, pressure pads, stitches, sterilizing liquid, splints, and more besides, and there's not a whole lot I can do without them."

This was how he was able to at least guess the guy's position.Obviously a medical cleric,no doubt.His thoughts were cut short again as the new guy continued."We can improvise of course, alcohol can be used to sterilise, strong straight sticks can do for splints, sewing needles and threads can do for stitching wounds, but I still need those, I don't have enough medicine to treat someone with the flu, and I barely have the equipment to stick a broken arm in a sling"

The new guy then looked around,as if to question anyone who dared to say something about his complaints,all though Caden hardly would consider those comments as complaints.He was using common sense,really.The group needed these things,and he was just asking for a away to get them.

The only question was,how to get them?

Turning his head to Haven,he still held a slight unhappy frown on his face.For once,he didn't hold his usual mask of happiness.He tried,but it just didn't work.He had to at least be a little happy for that,and as he wasn't.So,there was a problem.

As if it mattered,really.At the moment,he was listening to other people's problems.Theirs were so much more important,so he shrugged off his own issues and listened quietly.

This was so unlike him,or,well,unlike what he was usually like.

Why should we choose you? I think that I'm a reliable person when I have certain responsibilities. I'm extremely organized, in fact I'm the Orchestra Librarian in my school {The one who keeps all the music in order etc.} I also have knowledge of HTML codes. If you give me something to list or whatever, I would do it with no questions.

Roleplay Sample:

The tangy smell of seawater immediatly hit my nostrils as I step out onto the coast. The distant cries of seagulls resonate to my ears, making my eyes wander to the gray sky where the birds were flying. But the sound of crashing waves made my gaze drift back to the vast ocean in front of me. It was a giant plain of water, stretching for miles and miles. All kinds of abundant animals lived in it's depths. The ocean is marvelous and at the same time mysterious.

I like it.

The wind makes my hair blow backwards as I breath in the thick aroma of the ocean. It always makes me feel at home, strangely, even though I was born in the luxurious District One. Some things you couldn't answer, and that fact was one of them.

I bend down and let my finger run through the soft sand, making a small crevice in the smooth surface. My finger hits a nice round stone, and I pick it up. It's blue, but not entirely one shade of the hue. It is both light and dark blue, a strange combination. I toss it around a bit in my hand before slipping it into my pocket. Something to remind me I was here.

The sand muffles the sound of my heavy boots, but you couldn't hear anything anyway with the screeching wind in your ear. I make my way to where the water hits the sand, and let the cool liquid slosh around my ankles. It feels good. I walk along the boundary between water and sand for a while, until I can see someone in my line of vision. A boy, no doubt. I can't make any features out of this figure, so I decide to walk farther.

My instinct tells me to reach my hand into my pocket, where my trusty throwing knife was. My voice of reasoning whispers in my ear; You better be prepared to throw the knife at a moment's notice.

Role play Sample: Heels clacked on the hard cement as she ran, pushing herself to her limit. Well, as much as she could in those damned shoes.
"You'll regret this!" He called after her, dark eyes flashing. The drops of rain masked her tears, which she was thankful for. "He was right. You're just a coward." That made her snap. She spun around, slightly damp hair flaring out around her, eyes flashing.
"I'm a coward? Why did you run from me when I told you we needed to talk if I'm the coward and you're not?" He tried to speak, but couldn't. "Thought so." She turned bac around and began walking again. Tears blurred her eyes. Shay should have known she wasn't made for love. Not in District 12, anyways.

Why should we choose you? I love updating things, and I would probably update the Character Directory every time a new character came in. Seriously. XD I'm orginized; the state of my room and locker mean nothing, everything's in order in my head. I have a great memory; if I want to remember something, I remember it. Jokes, history class, names. You name it. I'm good with lists, and I'm on every day. And if, for some reason, I can't be on, you all will be the first to know. But if I get the position, believe me, I will do everything in my power to stay on.

Roleplay Sample: Peter placed an ill-advised coffee in front of Meggie, too tired to care of the effects of caffeine and the girl. In fact, it wasn't even really coffee when Meggie was done with it. She put so much cream and sugar that it went from being coffee to slightly bitter hot chocolate.

However, Meggie wasn't paying the drink the least bit of attention. She was rushing about, singing Christmas carols loudly (and badly) and working on something that would, according to Meggie, "put people into a hypnagogic state."

"Jules is asking to make something to hypnotize people?" Peter asked skeptically.

"Dashing through the snow- Hm? Oh, no, not Juliet. An advertising agency."

"Seriously?" Peter asked, surprised and impressed.

"Yes. I've tried it before, but it didn't work. The goal is to, these lights," she indicated four lights of alternating green and red, like Christmas lights. "To induce a state where the hypnotized subject would have to obey commands. Bark like a dog, dance a jig, wash the car."

"... An advertising agency?" Peter asked, wonderingly.

"Yes. The idea is that they'll broadcast these lights in commercials, giving the viewer no choice to but to buy their product. Last time it only caused nausea... Which is unfortunate because apparently people don't like to shop when they feel like they're going to throw up..." Meggie trailed off. Peter laughed.

"No, generally not."

Why should we choose you? Well, first of all, I'm a people-person. I have no enemies, what so ever and I'm extremely lovable. ;D ;D (I'm not sure about Aya though. I'm asked her alot of questions when I first joined. Sorry Aya. ;D ;D) But now that I seriously know everything about the site, I can help. I don't get annoyed at all with anybody. ROLEPLAY SAMPLE: (My First Post...Ever)

I lay down the pick axe and wipe some slimy grime off my forehead. We've been working all day. I reach out for my pack of water and put it to my dry, cracked lips. I await the freshness of the delicious fluid, but taste nothing but the cold metallic absence of my only source of hydration for the day. I look around me and find the other miners. Mostly men. They too, have finished their water and are resisting the urge to kill themselves. Most of them do. After months of mining coal for the Capitol, I would consider suicide too. But I know I can't. I must stay and work for the food to feed my family: my mother, my 2 remaining brothers, and my demon of a step-father. I wish I had a chance. A chance to prove myself. If I fought in the horrid Games of the Capitol, would I stand a chance at all? My brother didn't, that's for sure. If I won, I would have food and glory. I believe I could win, if they gave me a chance. But no one listens to me. What's there to expect from a 16-year old miner? they would say. I stop my thinking and collect my things. As I head out of the mines, I see the remaining miners hammering and digging at the hard, solid coal. I could help them. I could help them all. All I need is a chance....

Why should we choose you? I'm highly organized. I organize when there's nothing else to do. I can normally get on the RPG on a weekly basis AT LEAST, but usually more. I'm not familiar with JavaScript, but I'm sure I can get the hang of it after a few days, and I do have some basic HTML skills.

Roleplay Sample:

"No, but I wish I did. My friends keep telling me that I'm lucky to have my room all to myself, but I can only entertain myself for so long." I knew that if I'd gotten a siblings I'd be complaining two weeks later, but I didn't care. It would be better than nothing. It'd give me something to do. That's why I always thought of Patryck, Jayson, and Terry as my younger brothers (although Jayson is technically a day older than me, but he never acts like it). I see them as boys that I need to look after, even though they're all teenagers now. After all, who'd remind them of their homework and host the fun nights for them? They could do without me, but they wouldn't get far. They need me. I've gotten fond of them, but the drawback is that everyone thinks that they're my boyfriends or something. Ugh, I like them, but in the older sister kind of way.
"What's your brother like?" I asked.

Other: If you'd like me to help design things or make images for the site (maybe better icons for the shop?), feel free to ask me. Photoshop is one of my strong points.
