The Wander Into the Woods *open*

Feeling relieved of the day, I settle myself down into my comfy living room home. I slouched the same slouch, take in the same breathe, everything that I would normally do, but something was different.

It was the window. There was an eerie glare and I noticed I was staring at myself again. I concintrated hard but I just couldn't focus to what was outside of the window, or what should be my backyard, the fence that secure us people of District Twelve inside of here. Whatever was out there I could not see.

I want to go home, Daddy. But I don't want mommy/

I got up from my fathers couch and to the window. I was right about something not being right, of course i'm just weird like that.
And there it was, hoping the fence, what a rebel. I wonder why I never just hop the fence and leave my world, surrounded by nature, the way I like it. And today, I feel the need to follow this person. It may be the day I have been waiting for. It mayb be the day that changes my life.

As I sneak around the corner of my house, I make sure that the coast is clear of anyone near the fence. As the person has a succesful cross into the woods outside of District 12, I make my way around my small house, and listen to the wind passing through the fence.

My life lays behind here, and whatever that shall seek me, will always find me.

I touch the fence. Today, I have not been electracuted by the fence that should be on. Like it would ever be. Our district is too poor for this, which actually suprises me. But theres no way i'll be able to hop this. I begin to search around the fence when I spot a hole that i could easily fit my slim body into. Making sure no one is watching again, I slide myself under the fence between life and death.

I walk into the woods, not looking back, but destined to find my future, following the footsteps.

Don't look back.

As I slowly follow the footprints, they start to dissapear in the thick pile of leaves. I begin to get a slight chill of an uneasy feeling. That's when I heard someone scarmbling through the leaves.

I look up from my feet, but my eyes are too late to catch anything. In my mind, it was a huge animal. I just forgot about the girl who went into the woods. Fear had overcome my body and I am freezing cold. I don't know what to do, is there anything I can do? I huddle into my sweatshirt and wait. What am i waiting for?

Find safety. Move on. Life's just begun.

As I look like an illegal idiot, i turn to my senses and start to walk into the woods. Maybe this person will find me and help me, or she could attack me. But the thought of safety warms my body. My cold heart slowly melts away. Without any thought, I start to move through the thick piles of yellow and green leaves, trusting my luck.

Maybe it will work.

Could this be my world?

I began to shiver and tremble. I couldn't make it back to the fence. I was too frightened. There was something out there, and I was facing it. I mean literally facing it. My mind is frozen, in a complete scramble. And now the choice is mine. It's my turn to bust into action.

Actually, I would want to be one of those people you see on tv being all scared and frightened, then overcoming your fears. But sometimes, that doesn't happen. And now I'm stuck between wanting life to suck me dry or living the rest of my life. I was right the first step into here. This walk can hold the rest of my life. A life changing threat is upon me.

The voices in my head are screaming. Every little thought has it's own opinion and reason. No one can make up their minds. Then there's war. Sacrificing war that there's no point to. And to them, death is the only way out. I can't tell if these voices are inside or outside of my eardrums anymore.

Maybe i'm going crazy, but I thought I heard the shadow speak. It could be me just going crazy, or I could be getting my way back to the ground.

Nope, I definitly heard it this time. It was a faint 'Hello". I'm not going crazy, even today, or yet. I was just lucky, but What am I supposed to do? Anything but not my choice.

I sit on the cold, hard ground, and sob silently, not saying a word.

My destiny is falling apart.

I was leaning up against a rock-hard tree. It felt tha the jagged peices of bark were going straight into my back, making my back swell/

"Are you alright?I'm sorry if I upset you."

No, this person did not upset me at all. I'm just lost in my train of thoughts. All I wanted was to die, not become an avox. That's worse than dying. It seems that I have nothing to do with my life. Just before I could speak agian, the girl slides over a snack. My stomach growled from just looking at it.

"Is this, for me?" I said, pulling my white hair out of my face.

I watch as this nice girl smiles and nods for me to have the snack. I feel a little guilty, but I take it and split it in half, giving one part to the girl. Maybe this will cover up some of my guilt. I take a bite and cure my sickness to hunger.

"So, why are you here?"

My mind goes blank. She just said something that I probably can't even answer. Why was I here? WHat's my purpose? Maybe I wasn't thinking when I came in here. I'm actually surprised with the thought of hopping the fence. Did I really do that? Or was it all a dream?

"I thought I should try to change something in my life."

Hunt, did she just say hunt? Was she really daring to do so?

" I've never thought of doing so. I am a merchant, but I get berries. I don't have any clue to hunt.

I can't even imagine the fact of getting caught hunting. Not lkike my voice relly matters anymore, nobody cares about me. But I guess if I don't care and nobody else cares then I should try it. Maybe this is how I change. I you get a choice and it envolves change, I must do so. That's what my ddad would say. Of course, my mom wouldn't care if my life changed or had any impact on her at all. My dad was the only person that cared.

I quickly got up and glanced around the forest. I really wanted to hunt. I'm so eager now! All I see everyday is the deer that hop over the fence and next to my house. Maybe I should get them one day, as they have one year destroyed my berries and keeping my trace of food very low. I only had meat when I was a good little girl to Mommy, and whe was that? Only when I was a kid. I kinda wish I could try it. I forgot what the tase was like.

"My name? Oh, it's-" My words stop. I was interrupted by the faint sound of rattling bushes. My eyes narrow down the dense forest ahead of us, not knowing what lurks in them.

"Luna..." I say in a whisper off of my lips. Knowing that we had to hunt soon, with the sun setting, i dug into my deep pockets for the knives I have brought. I find two, nearly cutting myself trying to grab for them. I wait for the connection between our eyes and throw her the knife, knowing she will be there to catch it.

The knives were originally for defense. They are really the only thing i have for ddefense besides fists and feet. That's what came in my package. Fighting skills. Got them from my daddy. When i was 10, he knew I couldn't come home from school, expecting my mother to say, "How was your day?". No, things never worked like that. I would be lucky if I didn't get smacked that day. So my dad taught me how to fight with daily use items. Fists, feet, and knives.

Let's get this hunting ttrip started.
