Irene Waters, District 4 (COMPLETED)

Irene is rather beautiful in appearance. She has long brunette hair that drifts towards about her hip. It is wavy and with a few hints of a lighter shade of brown in it. A few select areas of hair are also blonde. She has emerald green eyes but they can be piercing, giving you deathly stares. She's thin as she doesn't eat much of the fish she catches. Irene is quite tall, 5'6, and her skin is a gorgeous tanned color from the hours spent tirelessly fishing in the sunlight on the coasts of District 4.

Some people think Irene's appearance is flawless, but there are a few flaws. She's dotted with moles on her skin, and she often has sunburn on her back or her arms, or perhaps the top of her kneecap. But aside from these simple flaws, she looks beautiful in appearance and she can't ward off boys falling hard for her because of her looks.

Irene has a nice fun-loving nature to her that makes it hard for you to prevent yourself from being friends with her. She has a cheerful laugh and smile and often hides her emotions, excelling in preventing tears from pouring and placing a fake smile on her face to stop herself from becoming centre of attention. Irene is a chatty girl and likes to talk about any subject you are willing to. But, as always, nobody can be flawless in personality, and the next paragraph will show her flaws.

She can sometimes get carried away in talking, and ramble on until the person she is conversing with stops the conversation abruptly and moves on to someone else. She also has a tendency to act before she thinks, often leading to carelessness and clumsy acts. She can often mess up her words, by either mixing two words together so she says a word the person she's talking to cannot comprehend, and also saying the wrong thing after she had everything sorted out in her mind.

Irene also adores arguing, and if you get one step out of line with her pretty face you find yourself in a huge argument. Irene doesn't use violence to help prove her point, but she uses words - shouting them at the top of her voice, never giving up arguing against the other person's point. Arguing is one of her strong points, and she is also very triumphant when she outsmarts someone. But when she's outsmarted, she can often sulk a bit.

Irene's mother, Adelaide, was keen to have a child ever since she turned 18. After avoiding the Hunger Games, she had felt a huge boost that gave her the need to have a child. She met Oscar and he seemed pretty keen as well, which was just what Adelaide liked in a man. They married and she had her baby, who was a girl. They decided to call her Irene, a name they found beautiful and enhancing. Irene turned out as both those things as she grew up to be a well-mannered, pretty young lady, but then the thought struck Adelaide.

What if Irene was chosen to be in the Games? Given her kind and stubborn nature, Irene would never step down and ask for volunteers, and then Adelaide would lose her only baby. She shared her worries with Oscar that night, and he comforted her and told her that Irene would be fine in the arena if she was picked, and maybe District 4 would be granted a truly marvelous winner.

Adelaide was comforted, and nine months later another baby girl was born, whom she named Ellen. Ellen was a gorgeous girl, and she grew up like Irene, well-mannered, kind and stubborn. Now Irene is 15 years old, and the scars of her childhood still remain, except now she's in more danger than ever, faced with the possibility of her name being drawn from that glass ball.
