Because I got high (quote Charity)

Its a nice day out, kinda warm...kinda breezing just right for lounging around. Parking my wagon and dropping my bag under a tree I roll up my pant legs and wander down the chilly creek bed. The small smoking joint in my hand ocassionally hitting my lips and spilling out a random spiral of smoke around my face.

There's nothing nicer than the fuzzy buzz this stuff gives me, specially when I'm out here alone. As I get a little farther down the stream I see a horse. I'm hoping its a real horse and not like last time where I spent an hour coming down off a trip petting a log thinking it was real. Slowly I mosey on up to the side of the horse, I'm quiet as a mouse, as I see the man bend down and stick his hand in the water. "I like your horse."

I know I"m going to shock him so I just stand there with a grin. My bloodshot eyes taking him in. He's a lot taller than me, but looks to be about my age. Well my real age, not the age I tell everyone.

"Um I didn't sneak up on you. Chill out." I laugh to the boy flopping around in the stream. Theres no need for him to get all bent out of shape, its just water and its a nice day. "What were you going to do, throw a rock at me?" I bring my smoke to my lips and take a long hit. Smiling at him through heavy lidded eyes.

"I might have an extra shirt back in my bag, I dunno if it'll fit though. with a lazy nod I look back upstream. "I'll even give you a smoke or two if you just relax. I mean its only f-cking water."

"I liked your horse, plus you were being loud so I figured I might as well say hi....and its really not that cold." I strip down out of my old tshirt baring all, handing my smoke to the man, I dip the shirt into the stream before pulling it on. Teeth chattering I look up. "Besides this is how I take a bath." I start to giggle.

"So whats your name." I shiver and step into a beam of sunlight. However the coldness is spreading through my body stiffing my skin into goosepimples and sending cold tendrils of water down my jeans. Rolling my eyes I look up at him, "Why don't you tie the horse to something I have some stuff that will warm us up."


The walk isn't far so I hope he will come or else I"m just going to head back up there myself. I do have extra clothes in my size and my stupid shirt is now freezing against me. He was right its f-cking cold!

"I'm Emme, like the letter. I've got my stuff just a bit further up the creek. I might have a shirt for you but you can have the rest of that smoke, it'll help." I wave my hand at it as I clamber out of the water and head upstream.

He's not bad looking, a little too girly for my tastes and a bit too young, but we could have some fun if he's down. Making my way to my little dirty wagon I sit and rummage through my bag, not finding anything that will fit Jack but I do have a blanket. "Here, use this for now. " I toss the thin little thing at him and motion for his wet shirt. "You want me to lay that out to dry?" I ask peeling mine off with a sloppy sound.

"So? Its just skin. I"d rather be naked then in those freezing things. And if you're not going to use the blanket I will." I smirk. Bending over I start rummaging around again and find another small sack with something special in it and look back to Jack, "You didn't crush that one did you? Cause if you did you're gonna have to start a fire for me."

The more I look at him the more attractive he becomes. Giggling I walk over and hold my hand out for the blanket, "You going to share or what?" Its not like I have a spare one for me so either I freeze or we warm up.

Reaching into the bag I pull out a small mushroom and pop it in my mouth. The taste is awful, but the effects are fun. Naked and high and tripping in the woods. Its basically all my life consists of.

The swirling mindbending effect of the mushrooms were starting to take effect and I tossed the bag over to him "Don't eat more than one or two. I don't want to have to deal with you not liking the effects." I start giggling. This cowboy has no clue what he's in for.

I lay a little plastic tarp on the ground and sit on it wrapping the blanket around me and warming myself by the small fire. Nights like this are so wonderful. Just getting to sit back and relax and taking in the surroundings. "Hey Cowboy, so where are we? I mean besides this big beautiful messed up space called Panem?"

I'd been through several districts already but this one almost seemed like home. It almost seemed like the same sort of faded farmland I missed.

"They're not that bad. They're pretty decent once you get them down." I mumble looking at the sky. Its pretty out here, so pretty, yet his grumbling as pissy pants attitude is kinda a buzz kill...I smile though knowing that will change soon enough. After he finishes the mushroom I pat a spot next o me. "Come sit. I promise I don't bite"

Its silly how he acts like I'm clueless or helpless when he asks if I'm a Wanderer, "I just do what I want Jack. I'm not hurting anyone, and most the time I'm just minding my own self...what are you going to turn me in or something?" I really don't want to talk much more, I'd rather him just kick back and wait for the fun.

Letting the blanket fall back I lay staring at the sky watching the fluid movemnt of the clouds and trees. Its just so beautiful for my eyes to move away.
