Admeta kicked the dummy in the Training Center, snapping its head back before it fell back to its original position. The neck had almost snapped clean off. She placed another kick it the chest, knocking it backwards, almost making it fall over.

She flipped her hair back, and watching the flash of the blue streaks fall across her eyes, she let out a yell and let loose a terribly powerful kick. The kick's sound resonated throught the gym. Another roundhouse, and she stepped back. Her brother, also known as her trainer, looked at her and nodded.

She sighed a sigh of relief and wiped her forehead, grabbing her double swords and attacking the dummy, chopping and slicing, until the dummy was almost mincemeat. The swords fit her hands perfectly, as they were custom made, and they were an extension of her arm, allowing her to use her arms to make a deadly arc of steel.

She finished her day of training, and, leaving the Training Center, she stood outside of the door, just standing, basking in the sun. Her skin wasn't tan, but she didn't burn, and she loved the brightness of the sun. It felt good against her bare shoulders.

She was wearing a black tank top and grey sweats: standard work out clothes for her. She pulled the ponytail out of her hair and flipped it around, looking around.

”Okay watch this guys,”

Jewel smirked to the people watching behind her as she swung the mace at full force towards the dummy’s head. The echo of the head splitting filled the training center, everyone watched at the head fell to the floor. Well the pieces of the head anyways. She turned back towards them and placed her fists on her hips, smiling devilish the whole time.

“And that’s how you spilt a tributes head open,” She said like it was something casually that she did every day.

“Now wont it be fun to be use this in the hunger games?” She said out loud, inspecting her mace. The mace was large and spiked a deadly weapon that should not be taking lightly. It was one of Jewels favorite weapons.

“Im going to train some more. You guys should train too,” Jewel said in a sweet voice. She would only use that voice with her friends, but in her mind she was thinking of ways to beat them. Everyone was sort of scared of Jewel when she was training. Her mace and her together would beat down any competition that stood before her, and those opponents’ were many dummys that had to be put back in place.

The time seemed to pass by, Jewel was done with training. She set her mace down in the usually spot and sauntered out the door. Pulling at her tight training outfit to release the sticky sweat that clung onto her body. The sun was bright and warm, that never helped with getting the sweat off.

Walking out towards the road to get home, Jewel spied someone she had seen in the training center. A tough young girl that would be a great sparring mate. Jewel had been looking for a sparring mate for a while, everyone else seemed so weak. Maybe she should give this girl a chance?

Jewel went into a jog, catching up quickly to the girl she had been eyeing. Casually flicking her hair back she ambled right beside to the girl.

“I have seen you at the training center. Your pretty good,” Jewel focused her attention to the girl beside her.

Admeta stood outside, letting the sun catch her shoulders, and sighed. She needed more competition. The other people just seemed like they were first starting out, when some of them had been training for longer than herself had. It was weird.

As she was contemplating whether or not to go back in and work on her sword work, a girl came up to her, named Jewel. Now she knew Jewel, or at least she recognized her. She recognized her because she scared everyone around her. The trainers, the other trainees, it was pretty cool. Admeta respected that. She had admirers, for her mixed martial arts skills, but no fearers. "I've seen you at the training center. You're pretty good," Jewel said, a compliment.

"Thanks, but there's always room for improvement. Always," she replied, trying to be humble. "You're pretty good with that mace. I'm better with double swords myself." Admeta smiled and said to Jewel, "I'm about to go back in. Need to work on my sword skills a little. Maybe we could spar or something." She shrugged her shoulders, not caring either way. But this girl would help her get better, help her find her weak points. So that maybe, she would have an even better chance to, uh, win in the Hunger Games. That was the dream.

"So, you gonna come in?"

Admeta, yes that’s her name! Jewel thought to herself as she listened closely to Admeta. Admeta, the girl with dark hair and different color sprites in it. The red and blue stood out against her dark hair. Jewel herself thought this was kind of weird and never liked it. Always wanting to keep her long blonde hair. But either way, Admeta was a career and Jewel liked that.

Jewel slightly twisted her body to look at the training center after the mention of it from Admeta. People were starting to go out but the trainers let some of the best students stay a little longer to train more. And I’m one of the best students, Jewel smirked before she turned back to answer Admetas question. Waving the compliment away.

“Thank you, I am pretty good with maces,” She boasted. “And you are good with double swords,” Jewel gave a fake sweet smile, “I would love to spar, that’s actually why I came here. I need someone to spar with and you met the bar,” Jewel spun back around and directed Admeta to follow her back to the large doorway to the training center.

Dozens of careers passed them before they reached the area and stepped in. Jewel tightened her ponytail and headed over to the where she kept the mace. Mats were still sprawled around the area, covered in bits of sweat. Weapons hung on racks and most of the trainers stood together in a tight circle chatting among each other. Most likely about the kids that impressed them the most.

Grasping her mace, she twirled back to Admeta and crossed her arms. “You can go get your weapon, I will stay here and find a nice spot for us to spar,” Jewel blandly said and peered around for a good area. Her feet lead her to the area and planted right on the left side of the blue mat they stood on.

I can’t wait to spar.

Admeta and Jewel walked into the Training Center, watching the trainers huddle and mingle, talking about the weather, favorite trainees, and where they wanted to go for lunch. She noticed Jewel walk to a stand, where she probably kept her mace, which was covered in bits and pieces of dummy materials and little splatters of fake blood that surrounded the sparring mat. Admeta smiled. She loved it here. The smell of blood and sweat and hard work that filled this place made her just smile in pleasure.

She walked over to a little stand next to a punching bag, which held two matching swords. The blades were longer than a dagger's but shorter than full length, slightly curved, and thin. They were made of steel, and the hilt was made of metal, she wasn't sure which kind, and it fit directly into her hand, which fit into the mold spots. Admeta tested the swords out, not by showing which arm she favored, or the strike she tended to do most, or her agility. No, she just wanted to find the strength. She took both of her arms and brought them together, slicing into the punching bag. I probably should've used a dummy, but whatever, she thought.

She smiled. They were perfect. The crisp cold edge reminded her of judgement. She wouldn't try to harm Jewel too much. Maybe a few nicks and cuts, but nothing major. She wouldn't bleed to death. She smiled at the items that became death machines in her hand, and she walked over to the sparring area. Glaring into her competitor's eyes. Slicing her swords around. Showing her strength.

The mace fit perfectly in Jewels hand. The dark thick handle made a prefect fitting for Jewels hand. Her fingers could encase the thing and enable her to swing as quick as possible. The top was large and deadly. Spikes came out from the bottom of and the top to make it more frightening. Lots of careers use the mace but only some love it as much as Jewel did.

Curiously, she watched Admeta swing her blades. She tested them against a punching bag, slicing through like it was a sponge. Jewel had to admit, this made her quite fond of Admeta even more just by watching her use her double swords. Jewel herself had never mastered to way of double swords and there is a girl who had, so one respect point. Then she can go through a punching bag easily, another point even though careers should be able to do that already.

This went on a for a short while, Jewels eye just followed the swing of the sword. Jewel did not want to show her strength with a mace quite yet, she could wait for the fight for that. Her head bend back and got ready to holler at Admeta, just like some of the trainers did when they were impatient.

"I think you have shown me enough, let’s get started!" Jewels voice was crisp and eager, her whole body was ready to start to spar. Sauntering over to the mat, she took her place. Balancing the mace in her hand, getting ready for Eliza to get ready. One breath, two breath, and Admeta was finally there.

"I will start," Jewels voice was strict as the mace started to bounce to the movement of her eager hand. The first dash was very important; it could lead to a fatal cut if placed right. But if dodged could also be deadly to the attacker. One of her trainers method ran through her head as her runners dug into the mat and sprung. She launched towards Admeta at a deadly speed.

"I think you have shown me enough," Jewel told her impatiently. "I will start." She quickly decided her first move and lunged. It was a well placed move, better than almost anything she had ever seen. The mace's swing was pitch perfect, with almost no area for error. That's a good move, nice and strong, hard to miss, she thought at a million miles per second.

Admeta felt like she was stuck in time as she watched Jewel swing the mace in slow motion, watching the deadly points come towards her face. She lunged out of the way, using her agility, jolting her body so that the points only cut her arm, leaving blood on the mace. She swung her swords around, making them an extension of her arms, slicing one sword down Jewel's leg, and one sword down her arm. She was aiming for the shoulder and knee, both joints, so that she could try to incapacitate her opponent. The swords swung at opposite directions, and when they were done swinging they would form a defensive X. It wouldn't kill Jewel, but it would injure her. She was hoping for an injury.

It was a move that was special to the double swords, because with two blades, you could have more offensive moves. The advantage of two blades made her almost unbeatable. But more offensive moves almost always meant less defensive moves, and so she counted on her agility to move out of harm's way. Admeta couldn't help but smile as she felt the blades in her hands stretch and attack Jewel, feeling the momentum of her lunge increase the speed and weight of the thrust. If Jewel blocked one, the other would hit her hard.
