Meeting someone new ( Onyx/ blitz )

Moses Tieford is standing in the middle of the road, hoping he looks like he is expecting someone. Pehaps someone will take pity, and come and take me away, he thinks, irrational as it may be. Mo has never been lonely, indeed, he has some of the greatest friends any sixteen year old could ever wish for, but there always seems to be something... missing.

He squints up into a sky which reflects the cobalt of his eyes, and shoves his hands deep in the pockets of his jeans. With shoulders hunched, he ignores the bemused glances of adults around him, and continues to rock on his heels while any concept of time passes him by. He doesn't react immediately when a girl, pelting from nowhere like a rocket, comes and collides with him, sending him crashing to the dirt. Arms flailing, scrabbling to regain his footing, Moses accepts the hand she offers graciously. "Oh, I am sorry," she chimes, in a sing song voice that Moses can't help warming to at once. How can I say thank you? He smiles waveringly, with a half shrug that he hopes shows gratitude. Moses longs to wet his too dry lips, but licking them may lead to having to speak, and I don't want to embarrass myself so quickly.

He turns slowly to leave, not wanting to seem shy or hateful, knowing that staying here any long would attract attention that he wouldn't be able to bear.
