I trudge up the streets of a packed street in a busy district - the district of gold and jewels. I shoulder my way past the busy people to get to where I'm headed. I walk as fast as I could but I always seem to bump into some stranger. Ocassionally, they yell at me or look behind their backs to see who the 'shover' was. But I am too fast for them. They can shout all they want, I don't really care. All I have to do is to go home and change my clothes. And I have to do it quick. I have to go somewhere but I can't go there wearing training shorts and a sweaty shirt. So here I am, cramming all the time I have left just to make it in time for my appointment.

Some people just don't really care if you're in a hurry or not. I roll my eyes and keep shouldering my way through. Though I feel a twinge of guilt for those who happen to trip or fall because of me, it's not my fault if they stood where they did. Sometimes, people could be just too uncaring. It's ironic, I know. Here I am talking about uncaring people all the while shoving my way through innocent pedestrians. I just really have to hurry. I would even send them bouquets but I couldn't remember their faces, much less their addresses. Isn't it impossible? Considering how many I've already pushed...

Including the people I pushed to their extremes.

I turn to cross the street and hear someone speak directly to my right, "Well this is a tad salubrious, isn't it my dear old chap?" "And I thought I was weird.." I said softly, laughing to myself as I did. I caught a glimpse of the weird dude before I went past the alley I saw him in. I've heard worse phrases and bad lines, but I can't help but crack up. Just a bit.

Talking to yourself can be elating sometimes, it helps you vent to no one in particular. No one hears you but you feel lighter inside. I do that a lot, I get mad for my loneliness. I get mad because I let the feeling of rejection seep through me. Making a void where a point of happiness should be. Where there is pain, there is nothing left for you but pain. I am alone yet my choices are made for me. I am alone yet freedom is a thousand lengths away from where I stand.

Where there is quietness, there is always doubt.

I stop for a moment and wipe the sheen of sweat on my forehead. I then wiped my palm on my trainng shorts and start to walk again, more slower now than how fast I was a few moments back. I try to pick up my pace but the cramp on my leg prevents me to do so, Screw cramps, I will crawl if I have to.
