It's only been, like, ten minutes since we got here. Why am I already sweating? It was true. A thin layer of dampness had formed on his skin by now as the sun beat down on them. She was right. It was quite hot. Why isn't there any snow? A few questions kept his mind entertained as he looked around their initial whereabouts some more. Just a bit to his left was a decently sized blood pool, one that must have come from somebody during the bloodbath. It made him sick to his stomach just to imagine it. To imagine as somebody fluidly moved with a weapon in their hand and managed to lop of somebody's head, or something along those lines. He wouldn't have been strong enough to handle the consequences of murdering somebody. She was able to do it. That's how much stronger she is than I am.

"I'm not sure. Just look around, I suppose. Anything that looks like it might be important." It was terrible advice but really, he knew no better. This wasn't the kind of scavenger hunt he was used to. No list of items was handed out beforehand. Simply the things they'd need to keep from being dehydrated and hungry and the knowledge that some items could be found throughout the arena. "Why don't you check around that side of the Cornucopia?" After speaking, he made his way up to the golden horn, shielding his eyes from the blinding light reflections. With his glasses sitting on his nose, it seemed to be twice as bright as it should have been. Which is why he didn't see it sticking up against the horn. Luckily, it didn't stab through his leg but rather bump it, causing him to look down.

By his left foot was a dull white object with a dark red tip. Carefully retrieving it, Eric began to notice the details. It's a tusk. It was common knowledge by all Capitolites that there had been an elephant graveyard in the 58th Arena. There was bound to be many tusks lying around somewhere. However, as far as Eric could remember, the elephant graveyard was across a decently sized marsh and not nearby the Cornucopia. But it was then that he noticed what the dark red colouring along the tip was. Blood. It had been dried, having obviously been sitting in the heat for a long time. The memories flooded his mind at that point. A fight in the graveyard between a boy and girl. It had been fairly even matched until he fell and found himself impaled with a tusk. The tusk that was now in Eric's hands.

Gage's tusk. He had found his first item. He smiled, finding new motivation to continue looking for more. In all honesty, the item scared him. However, if it meant leading him towards an item that Lethe had maybe used, he would gladly pick up items that had to do with the history of the dead tributes. Placing it in his bag, he began searching once again, only after calling out to Winnie. "I found one!"
