katie morven
Without a doubt, it was a poor day to be beneath the sky.
Katie tilted her head back slightly, eyes upturned. Unseen colors and emotions in the clouds above reflected on her face, playing in the girl's glassy expression. The vague, shifting cloud-images had caused the girl's eyes to forsake their usual shade of brown, covering the darkness completely with a mask of shiny grey. Her parted lips lent a hollow quality to her cheeks and a pensive look to her face in general; however, whether it was confusion, tranquility, or frustration was not apparent. Not on the surface.
Katie was eased out of her thoughts by a slight scuff of her father's shoes on the slick ground. His presence reminded her of why they were outside, and where they were going. A dance recital? She really hadn't believed him at first, but apparently the man was completely set on spending quality time with his daughter. Slowly letting out a sigh tinged with exasperation, Katie lengthened her steps. Out of her peripheral vision, she noted her father looking at her in a curious sort of way. It had never occurred to Katie that she was strange, or that her father didn't understand her. She simply thought him curious, not absorbing his worry, anxiety, and most of all regret.
They spoke not a word during the short walk to the dance studio. The girl flinched as a weak wave of memories reminded her of her childhood efforts to separate herself completely from this studio. She was in no way an artistic girl, and the idea of dancing scared her as much now as it had at the age of seven.
When the two reached their seats and sat down soundlessly, the recital had already begun; their walk had apparently taken longer than planned, and they were slightly late. It did not bother the teenager too much.
To distract herself from the uncomfortable emotional tension that separated her from her father, she eagerly scanned the stage. One dancer in particular caught her gaze; perhaps it was the fact that he was a boy in a group of girls; perhaps it was his striking blond hair and beautiful, poised movements.
Katie watched with interest.
ooc; Sorry for that terrible post-ending. Whatever.
Testing.
Hey look it's a text color! Lalala. Katie walked around, zoned out. She made some generic observations of her environment. Then she complained about her confused emotions. "Gawd, I'm so angsty," she mused. Then she just chilled because she was only doing stuff to show off this text color.
Don't like these much:
Oh look it's another text color, this one based on blue themes. I like the pink one a bit more, though; it's "more distinctive," as Katie would say. And she just did, because I needed something to say to show the speech color. I still like the pinks though. Not many people RP with pinks. Most do blue, IMO.
